A bus driver stated, "Well, interesting evening route. While driving to school I see this dog I know where he lives but is 5 miles from home . I know all the dogs in the housing units.( and toss treats) I'm the dog 🐕whisperer ....pulled over told him come on get on I'll take you home...He jumped on and rest is history." ❤️
Our Ikaika crossed over the 🌈 bridge on 7/18/23. We had a vet appointment at noon and I prayed all night that he'd go on his own at home on his bed and at 10:30am, he did. 💔😭🐾 Nothing is the same. Everything is different. 😔 All we do is cry. We are lost. I expect him to follow me into the kitchen when I'm cooking and to do laundry. He was my shadow. My husband is devastated. He actually went for a walk around the block yesterday and took Ikaika's leash. 🥺 The neighbors asked for him and they were all crying. He was such a good boy and is terribly missed. 10 years wasn't long enough. Run free Ikaika and look for Nana, she'll give you snacks. And say hi to Willow for us. Till we meet again buddy. xoxo 💙
PS: He had melanoma, pancreatitis and lymph nodes issues. Vet gave us antibiotics and pain meds the week before. He never complained or cried but we knew he was in pain. He took his last breath with his Daddy holding his face at home with hs familia. 🥺❤️

"Just... a dog.
Every once in a while people tell me "see, it's just a dog" or "you're wasting your time over a dog..."
They don’t understand the distances traveled, the time spent or the costs it involves to “just a dog."
Yet many of my proudest moments have come from “just a dog.”
I've spent many hours with "just a dog" as a companion and I've never felt more lonely.
Some of my saddest moments have come from “just a dog” and, on those dark days, the gentle touch of “just a dog”, comforted me and got me through the day.
If you also think it's "just a dog" then you'll probably understand phrases like
"just a friend", "just a sunrise" or "just a promise."
“Just a dog” brings the true essence of friendship, trust, and passionate joy into my life.
“Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience which makes me a better person.
Because of "just a dog" I will get up early, take long walks and look forward to the future.
So to me and people like me, it's not "just a dog" but the embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memory of the past and the pure joy of the moment.
“Just a dog” brings out the best in me and takes me away from my thoughts and problems of the day.
I hope one day they will understand that it's not "just a dog" but the being that gave me humanity and kept me from just being... "Just a man."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog..." smile because it's "they just didn't understand. ❤️"

This is Simcoe. He has gone on many walks along this beach and seen many sunsets in his day. Still finds the magic in each and every one. 14/10 #SeniorPupSaturday
