Wyatt Crowell...HOLY WOW!
5IP | 3H | 0R | 7Ks | 2BB
Crowell got strikeouts for the last 2 outs of the 1st inning, then struck out the side to start the 2nd, then Kd the 1st hitter of the 3rd. So, he had struck 6 hitters in a row.
That backfoot slider is ridiculous! It might be one of the best single pitches that any pitcher in the organization has, it's that good. Because he can also hit the back door with it, and then when he does throw a fastball at the top of the zone, it looks like it's coming in at 1000 miles an hour at that point.
How about, backfoot slider, backdoor slider, fastball up and away, fastball up and in..ALL executed...ADIOS! Wow! This outing, the mix between "stuff" and TREMENDOUS pitch selection from the catcher Griffin Lockwood Powell, then the execution, was explosive, and it was totally pro.
Atta baby Wyatt...Bigtime, my man! #dodgers #dodgersprospects
Wyatt Crowell...Atta Baby!

Crowell knocked down the last 3 outs of last night's game for AA Tulsa to preserve the shutout. He made the pitches he needed to in the big moments, he fielded his position VERY well, and then made it to the finish line. Can't wait to see the slider in person.
Check out the last breaking ball in the video, can't wait to see that one in person.#dodgers #dodgersprospects
Wyatt Crowell, welcome to the Main Field!
The backfoot slider is the calling card. It's a strike stealer and a bat misser, and it's ambidextrous! Fastball has good tail, he throws the slider to the back door, and the change-up is good too.
Crowell also features a "splinker," which is a mix between a split finger and a sinker, which you got to see twice today.
Crowell spent most of last year in High A Great Lakes, then got moved to AA Tulsa later in the summer, and has really been doing well since entering the system.
Congrats Wyatt...Can't wait to see you pitch in person at Tulsa, then OKC. #dodgers #dodgersprospects
Wyatt Crowell...LFG!
Crowell turned in a very good outing last night for AA Tulsa, and the Drillers needed every bit of it with Wichita nippin' at their heels for a playoff spot.

The backfoot slider was both a strike stealer and a bat misser, and when you can do both with that pitch, right-handers have very little chance.
He paired that with a tailing fastball on the outer half, plus a backdoor slider, so his sequencing, combined with execution, kept NW Arkansas off balance all night.
It's amazing how guys who "pitch" like he does can make 92 look SO MUCH faster than that by moving the ball, changing speeds, and locating.
Crowell lowered his ERA to 2.75 with the Drillers, 3.13 overall, and he has 114 Ks in 97.2 innings. #dodgers #dodgersprospects
Wyatt Crowell...AGAIN!
Crowell had another really good multi-inning scoreless outing for AA Tulsa.
3IP | 1H | 0R | 4Ks | 1BB
Crowell lowered his ERA to 3.07 and has gone scoreless in his last 3 outings. In those outings, he's pitched 12 innings, 0 runs, 13 Ks.
That backfoot slider...DAYUM! #dodgers
#Dodgers LHP Wyatt Crowell since the start of July with High-A Great Lakes:
34.0 IP
18 H
3 ER
14 BB
33 K
0.79 ERA
After another gem of a start today, he will have gone over a month since his last earned run before the next time he takes the mound
Loon of the Week: Wyatt Crowell 🔥
One of the best outings from a Loons starting pitcher this season! Wyatt threw 28 innings over 6 appearances in July and allowed just 3 earned runs with 26 strikeouts. 💪
Wyatt Crowell...LFG!
Crowell was dominant AGAIN tonight for High A Great Lakes .
7IP 2H 0R 6Ks 3BB
Crowell lowered his ERA to 3.19, has 80Ks in 67.2 IP, and has an ERA this month of just 0.96 in 6 outings. During this month, he's given up just 3 earned runs in 28 innings, has an average against of just .156, and a WHIP of just 1.04.
Crowell is absolutely destroying left-handed with his Sinker & Change on the hands, and the slider breaking away. His backdoor slider is on point, especially considering the plate was round tonight in terms of the strike zone. His fastball sets all that up, and also plays up off of it as well. Super fun to watch! #dodgers
Wyatt Crowell gets the DAYUM of the day!
5IP 2H 1R 8Ks 1BB...80 pitches, 50 Strikes
The slider was a good pitch to righties, had a a backdoor to back foot effect, and his sweeper was not fair to lefties.
Fastball was located in spots of safety, which gave him the chance to be very unpredictable, not just whether he's going hard or soft, but which secondary pitch he wanted to choose from.
This outing was a blast to watch because you could see there was a well-detailed plan that was mapped out, and then he went out and executed. #dodgers
Wyatt Crowell was good last night for Great Lakes with a scoreless 4-inning "Piggyback" outing.
4IP 1H 0R 1K 3BB
2nd scoreless outing in a row for Crowell (6 innings total), and he has posted an ERA of just 1.69 in 4 outings this month. His ERA since the beginning of June is just 2.59, and that spans 31.2 innings.
His average against is just .183, so he has super dirty stuff, it's all a matter of control & command. His "stuff" is good enough, though, that, typically, he has some margin for error. #dodgers
Wyatt Crowell had a great start in his High A Debut with Great Lakes. He's still working the pitch count back to full leash (probably next year fully) but making the most of the 50 or so pitches he gets at the moment when he takes the mound.
3IP 2H 1R 3Ks 1BB
3rd straight outing he's given up just 1 run, and he's given up 1 or 0 in his last 7 outings/starts & 11 out of the 12 he's had this year.
ERA down to 2.73, WHIP 0.99, Average against is just .115 & he has 38 Ks in 26.1 IP.
Move Ferris up, replace him with Crowell, it's great to be a Dodgers fan! #dodgers
