The Stronghold crew evacuates a patient via truck in what was supposed to be a six-hour journey. Instead, the patient declined during transport, and one of the truck's tires blew out along the way.
Final picture: The patient survived and even returned to express his gratitude.
It's a good weekend for a hunt, and we're in good company 🇺🇸 Who all is trying to squeeze in their last tags this weekend?
To all our Gold Star families out there: We love you, we appreciate you, and we will do our best to honor the sacrifice made by your loved one.
Our thoughts are with our Veterans today and every day. We appreciate you and everything you've done for us. #veteransday
Incredible speech by Medal of Honor recipient SSG David Bellavia, awarded the medal for actions taken during the Second Battle of Fallujah.
If you're into 1920s, small-town American nostalgia — like the thrill of being 12 and buying new shoes for the summer — check out Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury. It paints a picture of how childhood looked before we all adopted the concept of "ugliness."

I carried this poem with me on a few of my deployments to Afghanistan. Eventually, I'd write a bunch of my own — writing war poetry helped me (and still does) unpack a lot of the things rattling around in my head.

The Hobbit or The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe? If the only time you read them was decades ago — pick 'em up again. Both authors are WWI combat veterans, it's cool to revisit these through that lens. There's a lot there.

If you follow @Leo_Jenkins_ and his writing, you're not going to want to miss his latest book of poetry. We love to see Veterans thriving in the arts after service. #RLTW

Among the Ukrainian defenders of the Hostomel Airport yesterday was Jason, a British volunteer. After a hard drink he shared w/me his story & some videos from yesterday’s combat, including this one
He said Russian helicopter/warplane attacks were intense
“This is fucking war.”
Interior ministry of Ukraine reports that Russia has seized control of Antonov International Airport in Hostomel after a large air assault operation with Mi-8 helicopters. The town is only 23km from Kyiv.

My remarks for a panel last night, Jan. 18, about the Russian threat to Ukraine.
“I think it will be one of the great crimes of our time if the democracies of the world let this invasion happen…Have we learned nothing since World War II?”
Getting filmed for some non-work related stuff, on the front side of the camera this time (which is unusual for me!) — looking forward to sharing details on this one. More to come in 2022!
(Growing up in Thailand = no shoes indoors lol)
