Advocate Mahlape Sello asked Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala whether he was aware of any investigation conducted by suspended Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya into the kidnapping of businessman Jerry Boshoga.

Matlala said Sibiya never reported any alleged investigation to him.

The issue is significant because Sibiya previously told the Commission that the Boshoga kidnapping was reported and investigated by Gauteng Organised Crime, while other evidence has alleged that information about the investigation was shared with Matlala.

So, at this stage, Matlala’s evidence is that Sibiya never told him about such an investigation; that does not establish whether an investigation actually took place or what Sibiya may have known about it. #madlangacommission
