I don't think we should discount the power of engagement. A student engaged in a lesson will learn so much more than a student not. But good gamification also gives real time feedback to teachers to adjust instruction. #utedchat Like Peardeck, Gimkit, Quizlet, Kahoot.
We saw people mention Gamification earlier in the chat. We apologize for the oversight. Why should a teacher use Gamification tools in their classroom? Can it be more than just engagement? #utedchat
Q5: Considering the INFORMATION region of our bracket, it may seem disjointed, however, why is it important to teach our students to use tools like these effectively? How do you help students move from using these tools to start into creating their own original work? #utedchat
@BraxtonThornley Exactly - part of the joy is making the connections ourselves as part of the reader's experience. If only I could go back and redo my first years of teaching....
Yes! The article made me think about lesson plans. Before my current gig, I was an ELA teacher-of course I wanted to share all about the novel we were reading because I was so excited. But I was probably dumping on my students and then they couldn't process the book. #utedchat
A3: I'm for sure a Dumper. (i'm working on it!!) I just want to share ALL the things. However, I like how this article points out that we have to be aware of cognitive overload and how much we overwhelm people with too much info. #utedchat
