"Novel ways to reduce constraint payments for taxpayers, while meaning lower bills for some Scottish billpayers, could be a win-win." @LessWasteLaura

All of this destruction because of a fire that started in a vape shop.
Vapes contain lithium ion batteries, which are a huge fire risk when handled wrongly or damaged.
Huge credit to the @SFRSYourSafety and all other emergency services who worked so hard to keep this under control. This has already had a devastating impact on so many businesses who called Union St home, and we all need to step up and support them when they’re back on their feet
All of this devastation to my home city Glasgow because of a vape shop.
…and the fire is still burning.
The images are just horrific.

Today marks the first day of meteorological spring 🌷
March has arrived, and with it comes longer, lighter days. Over the next few weeks most of us will enjoy around two extra hours of daylight ☀️
And while Scotland (where I live) operates under a different system, this isn’t an issue confined elsewhere. Walking along the Ayrshire coastline, I regularly see sewage debris — wet wipes, sanitary products — washing ashore. It’s a reminder that we all still have work to do.
Last night I binged #DirtyBusiness on @Channel4 — and honestly, it’s hard to stop thinking about it.
This drama tells the true story behind England’s sewage scandal & in my view has the potential to spark the same level of public awareness and outrage as #MrBatesvsThePostOffice
I would strongly recommend. It’s a stark reminder of why investment in water infrastructure, stronger regulation, and long-term environmental stewardship are so critical. It's also a stark reminder about the failure of privatisation of this essential, life-giving resource.
Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change — all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.
There are too many speakers to name in full, but I am particularly excited to hear Sir Chris Hoy, Liz Forkin Bohannon, Dr Jo Salter MBE and Todd Henry to name a few. Oh...and there will be music from the Red Hot Chilli Pipers!
