Seeing district staff from all levels as well as parents, students, and other community members coming together to talk about making @ltisdschools a great place to teach and learn is the ultimate bucket filler! Great commitment to hard work. #LTBestInClassEducation

@TeachMrReed Poverty mindset. 🤯 I feel you on this. This has got to be part of what a therapist once called existential guilt. I haven't done anything wrong or unethical to be where I am, but feel guilty for having broken out of a cycle that most don't.
While we are updating our curriculum for virtual learning, let's take a real close look at our history resources. Changing the name of pancake syrup does very little for our country if we don't change our education and continue to pour money-tax dollars-into racist resources.
@carlisleeLT @frankhousera1 I'm reading this right now, too! Love the beginning conversation about grading. It's one I've been dying to have with teachers!
@ItsAMrY @ilana_horn Room for nuance? The first two points you bring up are generally true, not ideal but true. I wonder if the third point highlights that we give white and non-white students different expectations for what compliance looks like? Harsher punishment for the same crime dynamic.
