1) Yesterday, @OliverDowden told @CommonsDCMS "Once we get to [June 21st]... if it's the case that events still cannot go ahead because of a lack of insurance… then we stand ready to look at if we can use government intervention."

This gets it the wrong way round. Here's why 👇

2) Insurance cannot be the last piece of the jigsaw - it has to be the first 🧩 @julianknight15

It provides the foundation of security from which event planners book venues, pay suppliers & hire staff, knowing that they won't lose their homes ❌

At first glance, this looks like good news for live events.

It would be if the government had solved the problem of insurance and created a government-backed scheme like the @CommonsDCMS called for LAST JULY.
