@TriboliumMorio@Trumpisapedo17@Silberschwinge@DarksaberLight Hey so, idk if you seen, but he said he hopes my dog is stolen from me. In my state, my dog would be fine if a stranger was stealing from my property. But nevertheless, it was a little joke
@catherinespaws Itโs just a grown out shave down, her soft puppy coat was falling and her harsher coat was coming in, she we gave her the good ol tens blade
@echoesofspring I have nothing against mixes, I just donโt virtue signal about the dogs Iโve rescued lol and I found the breeds I enjoy and will keep going back to..
@shonole@jjkookah@DarksaberLight They can, though? Dogs tell us how a behavior is being perceived every time they interact. Reading dog body language is exactly how weโve confirmed other behaviors in groups. If it were true, then cropped dogs would consistently have more fights, right?
@echoesofspring@DarksaberLight Your virtue signaling doesnโt actually mean youโre a good person. My dogs are from ethical breeders, breeding for preservation and fully health tested (OFAs, not dna kits) for a purpose, not a pet.
@echoesofspring@DarksaberLight Several people have called my bearded lady ugly in the replies so idk what you expected rusty. I will show you my uncropped giant schnauzer :)
@shonole@jjkookah@DarksaberLight Going back to a statement you made earlier, you said there arenโt any peer reviewed studies because the dogs canโt talk.. what about the peer reviewed studies that HAVE proven dog behaviors?
@shonole@jjkookah@DarksaberLight I think weโre talking past each other. Iโm not saying vet observations are worthless. Iโm saying they donโt automatically prove the specific claim being made. There is a stronger argument made for docking = bad communication than cropping.
@ErisYoutuber@icbeez@DarksaberLight But โmost people do it for X reasonโ doesnโt really determine whether something is inherently wrong. Plenty of owners crop for breed standard, historical working reasons, or to avoid recurrent ear injuries. You can disagree with those reasons, but intent varies more than that
@ErisYoutuber@icbeez@DarksaberLight The cropping process is for people committed to the standard/purpose. Posting a dogs ears as they grow and change is hard work, but often essential if you intend to use them for their purpose.
@ErisYoutuber@icbeez@DarksaberLight Also; people keep pet chickens until they eventually eat them. Pets and working dogs arenโt inherently the same. Like service dogs, theyโre not really pets, theyโre medical equipment
@ErisYoutuber@icbeez@DarksaberLight So cosmetic procedures are automatically wrong even when they improve things/prevent future injuries? People remove benign masses/lipomas on pets all the time for appearance before they become a bigger problem. Where exactly is your line on what counts?
