I’ve now managed to stay on Twitter for 14 years (with a wonderfully mixed collection of followers) without the need to resort to gratuitously offensive comment and personal abuse of anyone. Disagreement is fine and dandy. The bile is always unnecessary.
The murder of journalist Martin O’Hagan remains a stain on press freedom in Northern Ireland.
25 years on, no one has been held accountable, while journalists in NI continue to receive death threats from paramilitary groups.
On World Press Freedom Day, we call for the publication of the repeatedly delayed report of the Police Ombudsman investigation into Martin O’Hagan’s murder.
I was shouted at this morning for not advertising the #DromoreBookFestival enough. A lady tore strips off me for not having posters up around town (I have) and it not being in the newspaper (I sent press releases)
And here was me thinking I was over-promoting and spamming 😪
Almost forgot about this - brilliant views of Bottlenose Dolphins yesterday! They were just casually cruising along right below the West Light and showing really well, including a wee calf. Suddenly it's that time of year on Rathlin when it's hard to keep up 😅
A friend was at Moya’s wake, and went up to Enya to make her condolences. Everyone was speaking English, but Enya replied in Irish.
There is a corner of Ireland where Enya lives in a castle and speaks Irish to her cats. And this is the best reason I can think of to ask aliens not to destroy the planet.
One of the things I like about running is, it's very democratic. A regular person can huff and puff along at half this guy's pace, and feel how utterly extraordinary you have to be to do a 2:01 marathon.
Stephen McCullagh was an insignificant controlling loser. The warm, rich tapestry of Natalie McNally’s life compares to the pitiful emptiness of his. There are no adjectives strong enough to damn him & no sentence long enough for him to serve.
