Sometimes grieving people—even believers—fail to anticipate and look to rock-solid biblical truths: that those who love and know Jesus will live forever in His presence, and we will be reunited with loved ones who know Him. https://t.co/LMnLej6qRR
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:18-19 🙏
By opening our homes and being gracious hosts and hostesses, we teach our children both to share and enjoy the fruits of sharing. They see firsthand the value of encouraging other people and drawing close to them through unselfish, generous hospitality. https://t.co/3VV0aaJJS7
“To be truly happy a man must have sources of gladness which are not dependent on anything in this world. . . . Tell me not of your happiness, if it daily hangs on the uncertainties of earth. . . . Your joy may be deep and earnest, but it is fearfully short-lived.” – J. C. Ryle
Forgiveness vacillates. It has fits and starts, good days and bad. Anger intermingled with love. Step forward and fall back. But it’s okay. As long as you’re trying to forgive, you’re forgiving. It’s when you no longer try that bitterness sets in. https://t.co/rdydsMbaor
We must become connected to the One who alone gives not only deliverance from sin, but meaning and purpose and personal relationship. This is what the Bible calls reconciliation. https://t.co/jHQERwQ84T
A people and a place are often identified virtually interchangeably, both in the Bible and in modern culture. e.g. Jerusalem or Babylon or Portland are used in the sense of a place, and also a people. https://t.co/fUa48Mz49N
“The further I go on in life, the more convinced I am that every Christian is a struggling Christian, dependent on help from brothers and sisters who know their needs and vulnerabilities…We’re simply not designed for solo flight.” —Rebecca McLaughlin
Everyone deserves a parents home. A home, where the doors are always open, where you can lay wherever you want to, wearing whatever you want to. A home, where you can always be a bit of a brat, a home that spoils you. You can keep your feet on the Living room table, drag a blanket to the drawing room to watch television.
You know that the refrigerator always has some food that was made for you, just in case you come home hungry from a dinner. A kitchen that you know well and a kitchen where you can make any noise at any hour of the night and no one will mind. Even if they wake up, they will not be annoyed but will ask you if you need anything to be made.
You can decide to do nothing for a couple of days and no one minds. Everyone deserves a parents home at every age...
If we don’t spend time with the Lord or read to our children or call our parents, life goes on. These things are not emergencies. In neglecting them we don’t neglect something urgent. We neglect something important. https://t.co/44JYSm7Y0o
"He who lays up treasures on earth spends his life backing away from his treasures. To him, death is loss. He who lays up treasures in heaven looks forward to eternity; he’s moving daily toward his treasures. To him, death is gain." - Randy Alcorn

“So my heart rejoices and I am happy” (Psalm 16:9, NET). Did you catch that the psalmist isn’t just anticipating rejoicing—he’s doing it now. Today’s happiness in Christ is drawn from an infinite deposit of happiness that God has already placed in our account.
Many who think they trust Jesus trust more that Jesus will give them an easy life. Is that you? If your faith is one that will be lost when you face great suffering, lose that faith now. Instead, put your faith solidly and completely in the real Jesus. https://t.co/ENe2H4YWi8
