@hotpantsxoxo I completely understand!! 😭 I struggled with it for the longest time! But for this I just recommend using a 'color' layer with black color simply to check values. You could probably also duplicate your art and completely desaturate it to check!

@hotpantsxoxo Grayscale, it might be even lighter than the skin by a bit. It seems colors that contrast more(the white, the nose shadow) have harder edges, while the rest is more blurred/blended together.

@hotpantsxoxo From what I can tell! There’s a slight hue darkness where shadows should be. Redness on cheeks and chin. Light airbrushing for shiny parts, getting more solid/stronger airbrushing at the brighter parts. The pink blush is the same tone(?) as the skin, so it’s not noticeable in+
