@jcurleyshow , thank you for having me on your show today to discuss the most recent editorial board piece the @seattletimes put out against I-638.

To those writers at the Seattle Times—let me start by saying this: I wholeheartedly stand by, now more than ever, what I said about you before when you decided to pull the @Matt_Calkins article. You ARE a woke rag who silences the voices of anyone who has a differing opinion from yours.

I would also like to add that the only group doing the “fear-mongering” is you. You tell people and athletes that in order to play a sport, they have to have invasive genital exams. WRONG! I have been playing sports all my life, and never once have I had to expose myself to anyone just to prove I am a girl.

You tell the voters of Washington that it is only 10–12 athletes out of many and that they affect little to no athletes. WRONG AGAIN! 1 athlete is 1 too many. That one athlete can have an effect on a whole team, a whole locker room, a whole roster spot, and a girl who has worked countless hours just to get to the point where she is now.

You tell people that in order to have a safe and inclusive space for everyone, they should allow men to compete in their sports and be able to walk into their locker rooms whenever they please. What a load of BS. Have you been in a locker room when this has happened to you? Because I HAVE!

To think that a paper as large as yours is too afraid to let a column run about a 17-year-old girl’s experience of having an 18-year-old man play against her girls’ basketball team and go into her locker room when she was 15 is cowardice. I will say it again—you are cowards.

Here is the reality of what is happening: “transgender women” are men, and they always will be. Let’s stop calling them women when we all know darn well that they are not. This is a LIE that I refuse to accept.

Blethen (emeritus): It is a shame that you are so deeply brainwashed that you are willing to publicly spread lies about Initiative 638. It is even more of a shame to think that I, a 17-year-old girl, have more common sense to be able to stand up for what is right.

I urge anyone who disagrees with me to meet with me face-to-face and have this discussion civilly. No need for hate or threats like I’ve been subjected to. I will make time: any place, anywhere, any time.

As the Times and others would like to spin it—this is NOT about hate. It never has been—it’s about protecting GIRLS.

The last thing I want to add is that the only thing we should say NO to is the news organizations like yours that choose to spread lies like this and have the audacity to make it look like you are trying to do the right thing. The people see through this.

I am calling on the people of Washington State to choose common sense and choose to do what’s RIGHT! Vote YES on 638 to protect the real women and girls who just want a safe and fair space to compete!

And for anyone hiding behind a screen saying this is AI or accusing me of not writing my own posts—this is all me. I also invite you to be brave like I have been and expose yourselves rather than hide and call a 17-year-old girl disgusting names. Takes a real tough guy to do that… about as tough as the Times for being too scared to listen to a 17-year-old’s side of the story.

So that everyone knows where I stand on the Millionaire's tax...IMO: Washington State used to be a land of opportunity. It was exciting living in Seattle, seeing it grow from a budding and quirky place, full of environmental beauty, to a world-class city set within a "land of milk and honey" state. This initiative protects the female category that Title IX recognized in 1972 and that federal law, World Athletics, the WTA, and the IOC all protect today. Every student can still play. In the end, no girl should lose a starting position, a medal, or a college recruiting opportunity because the category created for her went unprotected.
