Harborside Park in Chula Vista, CA was closed in 2022 after it had become overrun with homeless encampments and illegal activities.

Since taking office @MayorJohnMcCann spent months meeting with community members and working with the City Council to execute a plan and safely reopen the park after it was closed under his predecessor.

Earlier this month it was announced that $1.25 million was secured for safety and security improvements to reopen the park.

Chula Vista D4 residents outraged that their councilmember, Andrea Cardenas, substituted the vote to reopen Harborside Park with one to declare it surplus land (meaning affordable housing). https://t.co/pTixMNcgPG

NEW: CBP source tells me Border Patrol’s San Diego sector apprehended more than 1,300 illegal immigrants yesterday, including 160+ from China and 120+ from Vietnam.
1,100+ of the illegal crossings yesterday were single adults (83% of the crossings).
