@TrevorSheatz Nope, the more I read the Bible the more I realized that the Catholic Church was the only denomination that holds a consistent holistic view of sacred scripture. Over three years my family converted to Catholiscim from athiesm, we still read the Bible nightly.

@DeeWaynee94 Christ's sacrifice isn't about clearing an invented debt, it's healing a wound we inflict on ourselves by separating ourselves from God.

The resurrection shows that Christ is who He claims to be, and that you can believe His claims about eternal life by following Him.

Mary is the perfect example of this verse. At the Annunciation she gave the perfect fiat, “Be it done unto me according to thy word”. She obeyed the Father’s will with a completeness and perfection unmatched by any other creature. Therefore, by Jesus’ own words in this verse, she is His mother in the fullest sense, both biologically and spiritually.

I was reading through some of the other comments and your friend seems intelligent, well read, and that he may already know what he needs to know to get through this but just wants to be in a state of grieving.

No one at the foot of the cross was there giving theological sermons, they were just there comforting each other. Be with him there and let him just feel the Holy Spirit through you and your actions.

It might be different because I personally didn't grow up with my dad in the home, but I think the problem is 100% the man.

My dad didn't didn't push for rights because he felt that women were better care takers and that he should just work his fingers to the bone to support his now divorced wife taking care of his kids. Mean while my mom was spending child support money on her new boyfriends at clubs while my sister and I had to talk about who was going to get new winter clothes. Long story short, I spent the winter in swim trunks, DC sneakers and wind breakers so my sister could have nice clothes.

I spent years thinking that I needed to take care of my mom, my sister and protect them from my mom's boyfriends until after my mom attempted suicide to realize that something was wrong. I called my dad and he told me to come live with him, it was then at 12 I realized that normal kids don't live like this.

I love my dad, and I talk to him every day, but if he had asserted the authority due to him rather than listening to propaganda, I'd have grown up not having to fist fight men my mom brought home from bars.

I can't for one second think of doing any of that to mt kids, I'd rather be bankrupt and die.

If that isn't your mentality, then you, as a man, are at fault. Women only get away with this because we allow it.

As we wrestle in my home state of Minnesota with the fact of deep corruption in the political and economic orders, I want to draw attention to the “social justice” dimension of this problem. Catholic social teaching has a good deal to say about official corruption, insisting that it undermines confidence in our leaders, compromises the integrity of the institutions of government, and subverts the rule of law. But even more importantly, it deeply harms the poor, stealing resources from them, increasing inequality, and blocking essential services such as health and education. And if the widespread fraud in Minnesota is also present in a number of other states, we are dealing with a massive violation of human rights and a heinous attack upon the poor and needy. This should not be a matter of partisan politics. Rather, wherever this corruption exists, it should be fought and those responsible for it brought to justice.
