Took a stroll into town, and found myself in the White Lion. Saw John Cramp, who had just finished his shift at the racing stables. I bought him a scotch, and he gave me a tip on Thursday's Houndean Handicap.
Rose has tidied up my moustache, and provided me with some cherry pie. I am now reading Mr E M Forster's latest novel. It is set in Italy, and so far a gripping read.
Visited dear old Mrs Tomsett in Leicester Road. We sat in her garden drinking tea, whilst my goat helped itself to her rose bushes. Confounded creature.
Rose put up the Christmas decorations this morning. We were foolish enough to leave the house shortly afterwards, and my goat took the opportunity to consume the bottom half of the tree.
Visited the Lewes Arms for a quick beer. Met a Scotchman there, who educated me on the merits of a good peat whisky. Rose is now tending to me with a cold compress.
Our lamp lighter Edwin Fuller has been taken ill. Found old Mrs Upton wandering aimlessly in Lancaster Street, and took it upon myself to guide her home.
A stressful visit from my austere aunt Jemima. As she went to leave we discovered my goat had eaten her hat. She was infuriated. I have rewarded the creature with several treats.
Took a stroll into town with my new goat. It appears to be a very docile creature. However, it did not take to Mrs Dumbrell. It might have been the garish hat.
My goat is poorly. I tried the usual tonics of malt biscuits and Ovaltine, but the creature showed no interest. Rose has gone to fetch Mr Munby from the surgery.
