This isn’t new. He’s a microcosm of society, getting praise for the mediocre. World class because he runs a lot…. We’ve lost the plot as a footballing tribe.
Only one with a fuckin bollocks about him, if we had a few more with his mentality we would of been okay against them dirty rats. A lot of them are too soft getting bullied about the place by little angry midgets, embarrassing
No words are big enough right now to overcome this empty feeling in the stomach. We were close, really close to another final but it wasn’t enough. We’ve given everything over these last 7 weeks and to fall short is hard to take!
I know the expectations are high and rightly so, we’ve been knocking on the door for 8 years now but again are missing that final piece of the jigsaw! That’s where we have to go away, process it and find a way to get better. I’m so proud of the boys and what we have shown throughout this tournament - some tough games and tough environments that we have overcome.
Some memories that will stay with us players and I’m sure you fans for a long long time! Going for glory doesn’t always mean you will get it. You have to fight for it, get knocked down, pick yourself up and go again and that’s what we will do, there’s no other way but to keep believing and keeping pushing.
Thank you to every single fan that travelled and showed their support in the stadiums. Thank you to every fan back home for believing in us. Thank you to the boys and staff for everything you have given. As always Win or lose, we learn and go again! 🏴🦁
One of the saddest things about losing a World Cup fixture is that our nation has become so poorly run, with so much hatred and disunity, that football brings us a rare feeling of togetherness and actually resembles past emotions of being proud of your county. That all ends now.
We are completely heartbroken that our dream ends here, but so proud of this group, our staff and you – our amazing fans.
Your support in North America and back home has been nothing short of incredible. Thank you.
Micah Richards was taking absolute pelters on social media throughout the England coverage last night.
Just search his name on here. People were saying he was on drugs, asking why he seemed so angry, why he was so twitchy, why he was speaking the way he was and calling him all sorts.
It’s a perfect example of why we should never assume we know what’s going on in someone’s life before judging or mocking them.
Hours before the game, Micah’s father passed away. Yet he still turned up and did his job. That takes incredible strength.
Just remember, think before you speak. You never know what someone is carrying behind the scenes.
little bit funny that the falklands is genuinely one of only geopolitical situations where the uk is on the morally correct side (to the point where it feels like a made up hypothetical scenario) and yet argentina have made opposing it a key part of their national identity lol
The older i get, the more i realize that someone making time for you is one of the clearest signs they care. Everyone is busy. Everyone has responsibilities and their own battles to fight. So when someone consistently chooses to spend their time with you, checks on you, and makes space for you in their life, it means something. time is one thing we can never get back, and people don't give it away lightly.
Argentina brutally invaded The Falklands in 1982 and suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of British forces who fought with great courage and resolve. Over 40 years later some of its leaders still cannot accept reality. The Falklands are British and always will be British.
