Liverpool beat Brentford, and when it was 11 vs 11, I think it was arguably our best defensive performance of the season.

@mrexperienceJA Oh we have no chance of winning it without a midfielder in January, but I'm very confident that we can legitimately challenge if we're close AND sign someone.
Without an addition, no chance.
If we can maintain the six-point gap to Arsenal in first by the time they come to Anfield, then we're onto good things.
I said before that if we're within about 10 points by the time January comes around, we could push closer to the title.

[🟢] INFO: A bit like Mo Salah even though it didn’t turn out that way. Liverpool’s intent at that point in 2025 was to have a natural transition and then a likely parting of ways, with younger defenders coming through. Jeremy Jacquet looks like being one of the signings of the season.
So Liverpool are calm about the situation, and they’re basically going to have to decide whether they want to offer maybe one more year and have Van Dijk in a potentially diminished role and maybe on a diminished wage. I’m sure later in the season these conversations will happen between Van Dijk and Liverpool, but nothing is developing at this stage.

This is something that me and Luke have had a look at, but I encourage everyone to watch that second Villarreal goal and look at how many problems Moleiro caused us.
Then have a look at the positioning of Iwobi against us Vs Fulham, and Tavernier against us Vs Bournemouth.

I hope it's not a bad injury, but if Saka's out injured for a while, it makes the title so incredibly open for us.
Liverpool are so close to being genuinely competitive. One midfielder, and maybe development from Nyoni/Rio makes us serious challengers.
‼️ The next episode of The Guild Room Podcast is out tomorrow morning.
@LewisFN00 and @_LukeFC discuss Liverpool's wins against Brentford and Villarreal and deep-dive into Iraola's game model and how the Reds defend wide areas...
Well Rio has always played from the left so that’s obviously his best position, Gakpo should move really but who knows, I’m interested to see where Wirtz plays, if he’s 10 Dom plays CM 🤔
I’m not sure about that.
Need a right winger desperately!
Moleiro is highlighted in the first image - he's essentially Villarreal's LW. He's caused Araujo and our press huge issues by moving inside the pitch
In the second, the defence needs to step up more, but also, one or Mac or Grav need to drop deeper. Grav should help Rio too.
@janufooty He had a horrible game Vs Newcastle at the start of the season, and the talk about a then 17 year old (now 18) kid was horrible.
So glad he's taking to RW like this, and it just feels nice to see a career develop like this.
Rio played RW against Nottingham Forest and Man United. Check out Rio's involvement for Mac Allister's goals vs Forest.
And Barcola will almost certainly be the starting LW and the backup number 9, meaning Rio will get minutes at LW.
We don't desperately need a RW.
