• Amazon Prime Video has entered the race for NRL broadcast rights and is reportedly chasing one exclusive game night per week (e.g. Fridays).

• Seven is also in the mix, bidding for one game per week (Sunday or Monday) and State of Origin rights.

• Incumbent broadcasters Foxtel and Nine are both competing for the full suite of NRL rights.

• Paramount has not yet submitted a bid.

• Nine wants to secure the rights for Stan Sport, while Foxtel is looking to maintain its long-standing partnership with the NRL.

• Peter V’landys is reportedly targeting a deal worth around $4 billion over five years, double the value of the current agreement.

• The current deal is worth $2 billion over five years ($400m annually).

• V’landys wants the new broadcast agreement finalised before July 15.
