@linmeitalks Thats the point, it’s new world black culture African American culture started the same way, a mix of different African Cultures mixed with the influence ofEuropeans because of the place they came to inhabit. Uk is exactly the same the foundation culture is Black Caribbean
@FIFISahel0041@CountAtlas@Mik3z_ The comment was in regards to West Africans in Britain wirh Ghana and Nigerian representing the biggest group…..
And you are only partly right Nigerian and Ghana cultures share so many similarities, Food, Music, Worship etc, as much as it’s different it is similar.
@FIFISahel0041@CountAtlas@Mik3z_ Ok Nigerian/Ghanaian then. Would also argue there are many overlaps between West African countries as a whole, like shared foods, music and even down to linguistics, i.e Niger-Congo
@linmeitalks It was based on Black American/Jamaican music genres, Black Jamaican slang, a bit of cockney due to proximity and location and input from some Black Africans and English white people who grew up around Black people, whwre is the we are the world influence you speak of?
@CountAtlas America is multi cultural also, still doesnt dispute the fact that the culture i.e Music Fashion food language is shaped by a dominant Blsck culture(Traditionally Black Jamaican and Carribeans).
@Mik3z_ Its Black British culture simple as that nothing wrong with other people partaking it but accept it for what it is, otherwise next thing you start saying Garage Grime Rap isnt black music because Eminem rapped and Maximum Bbk span decks
@linmeitalks Black British culture is still that, mostly Black Carribean Black American with smaller doses of West African and Cockney(thats really it, you adding other people but we don’t use Pakistani words, dont listen to the music, or influenced by the fashion
@CountAtlas@Mik3z_ Black British culture is an amalgamation of mostly Carribean influences and a smaller West African influence, knowing where you come from doesnt mesn Yoi don’t replicate your culture elsewhere there are things Black brits do that are unique to them.
@imanii_reena@iscanooor78445 Kool Herc will tell you himself Hip Hop is Black American Music, the one two people from other cultures who took part doesnt takw it away from it being predominately started by Black youth and having influence from other Black American genres
@imanii_reena@iscanooor78445 Youre wrong Puerto Ricans were part of the second wave of Hip Hop abour 5-7 years after it had already started. Hip Hop foundation is in other Black American music like Soul and Disco
@Diasporanfacts@XONYT_ For some reason I don’t see any Grime legends doint Dancehall albums, but I’ve seen Dizzee Rascal Kano Wiley Skepta Ghetts Scorcher Wretch all move to Rap after Grime died down, doesn’t that tell you something??????? It’s influenced by both like I said.
@Diasporanfacts@XONYT_ The production techniques and sounds of early grime was influenced by Southern Rap, I bring the 36 mafia stuff up because Dizee and Slimzee was one of the pioneers of Grime
