Writer and journalist. Author of Prompt Excursion. Currently working on my next book. Perpetually messing around with cars. More on that here: @theseoldcars
A long time ago, in a house far, far away, I had an idea to write a book. Finally, last year, I sat down and wrote something: Prompt Excursion (https://t.co/2uEduEnjPA).
It's been an interesting process, so I've joined up to share my experiences, and to learn more from all here.

We're looking for judges for the next Self-Published Science Fiction Competition (#SPSFC). I've been one all three years and have read some great indie SF. @thespsfc
https://t.co/ZUNOJ13apn
The #spsfc4 guidelines are online! I was encouraged to submit and will once again be a judge. Since I will have a bit of free time in October, I will likely speedrun entries. For some reason, they forgot to add which language the book must be. ๐ค

"The books starts off strong with an action packed pace."
"The prologue gives a great sense of suspense while the first chapter absolutely makes me feel like I'm exploring something long thought missing."
Was your scifi book too long to enter into our novella competition? Then make sure to enter @theSPSFC on Monday! Weโre excited to cheer on the authors entering there!
It's happening! #SPSFC 4 will begin taking book submissions on Monday Sept. 2. Ladies and gentlemen, start your manuscripts!
No, wait. You probably should've started them much earlier...
@hughhowey And that can only mean, of course, that our pick for the #SPSFC this year, the 2023-2024 #SPSFC3 champion, is Kenai, the mind-bending tale of alien discovery by Dave Dobson!
Huge applause and three cheers for all our contestants, we have a winner!

I still find it hard to believe that I've published a book, but here we are. I also can't believe it made it this far in #SPSFC3, especially against such a wide, dazzling array of competition. So many superb books. Best of luck to the finalists and thanks again to all involved!
Group 2 was made up of Teams Wayward Stars, Book Invasion, and ScienceFictionNews. They chose The Hand of God, Dark Theory, Woe to the Victor, Children of the Black, Panacea Genesis, and Prompt Excursion as their #SPSFC3 semifinalists. Which two scored the highest in this group?
