I hate how we’ve normalized the idea that you can’t make it in life unless you’re a civil servant. That mindset is so deeply rooted in how many Plateau state parents raise their children.

I have a theory about the Osun election
I feel APC could have won that election if they really wanted to, but I think they may have made a bigger sacrifice for the sake of the 2027 general election.

My thinking is that a major agreement may have been reached behind the scenes to allow Adeleke to emerge as the winner, not necessarily because APC couldn't win, but because they needed the public to see that an opposition candidate can win under the current administration.

Believing that Gboyega Oyetola could deliver Osun State for the APC was arguably the biggest gamble we took as a party.

It was Ademola Adeleke who defeated Oyetola when he was a sitting Governor in the 2022 election. In 2023, the Adeleke factor was also instrumental in helping Atiku Abubakar win Osun—the only state he won across the entire South-West.

Oyetola could not deliver Osun for himself as a sitting Governor in 2022. He could not deliver the state for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election as the APC presidential candidate. Yet, we placed enormous confidence in him to deliver another APC candidate against Adeleke, who is now a sitting Governor and the same man who defeated him when he was in office.

Politics is a social science. It must be studied through history, facts, patterns, grassroots realities and political behaviour not through self-acclaimed political strength or empty rhetoric.

When history keeps repeating itself, wise political strategists pay attention.

Presidents like Donald Trump are rare.

You can like him or hate him, but you cannot ignore what he represents. This is a man who confronts power head-on.
