Look back at Leo Atlas 6 (LA-06).
Atlas V will be back on the pad on May 22 for Leo Atlas 7 (LA-07), but first up, another launch this week: Leo Europe 2 (LE-02), our second mission on Ariane 6, set for Thursday, April 30, at 4:08am ET | 8:08am UTC.
LIFTOFF of the United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket and the next satellites for @AmazonLeo to enhance broadband access and connect the world! https://t.co/V4hH74tkhn
Atlas V rolled from the VIF to the pad at SLC-41 with another 29-satellite Leo payload, exactly 23 days after our last mission with @ULAlaunch. Leo Atlas 6 (LA-06) is scheduled to liftoff tonight, Apr 27, at 8:52 p.m. ET.
ULA is using a streamlined roll-to-launch flow for this mission, with rollout, testing, fueling, and liftoff all within a single countdown. The process helps enable a faster turnaround between missions, allowing for a higher launch cadence as we prepare to transition from Atlas V to Vulcan.
We’re now on the second of four back-to-back Leo launches on Atlas V, building steady momentum as we expand our constellation.
The United Launch Alliance #VulcanRocket lifts off at 7:25 a.m. EDT (1125 UTC) on the second Certification (#Cert2) flight test. https://t.co/eWLyIiIUE6
For #Cert2 flight, the #VulcanRocket is flying in the Vulcan VC2S variant. It uses two BE-4 methane-fueled main engines, two GEM 63XL solid rocket boosters, dual RL10C-1-1A engines on the Centaur V upper stage and a standard-length, 5.4m Out-of-Autoclave (OoA) payload fairing.
#VulcanRocket is on the launch pad! The #Cert2 mission is the opportunity to test, experiment and demonstrate the next generation rocket in space while fulfilling our certification obligations to the nation.
