@katie_honan I mean I agree with you and support the Israel boycott, but if I lived in Park Slope I would lobby for at least 3-5 hot priest calendars in stock at any time, seems fun.
@John_Fanta This is a huge gift to mid-major fans who have had to clarify "wait the MAC or the MAAC" when talking about either of the conferences that sound like "Mack" when you say it out loud.
@JacobALinker You…misread the chart? Annexation gets gets 17% and is separate from the 44% figure of Jews under-35 who support one-state that would be secular/binational.
@PaintTouches@nolan_durdan@cobrastats Maybe I'm too much of a numbers guy, but he's in an image summarized via "Bottom 10." However long you look at it, if you don't have extra information (there's another year), the data's (inaccurate) story is that Butler's development was on the extreme low end of MU players.
@nolan_durdan@PaintTouches@cobrastats Really, the story is that Jimmy Butler had similarly little progress to the players at Marquette that improved the absolute least over time -- and that's really an inaccurate story.
@nolan_durdan@PaintTouches@cobrastats Fair enough. I think players whose careers were not fully post-2010 should be taken out then. His numbers are misleading if the goal is to capture which players improved, which didn't, and which regressed. The story told here is "Jimmy Butler did not improve while at Marquette."
@PaintTouches@nolan_durdan@cobrastats I am confused about Jimmy Butler -- he played 3 seasons at Marquette not two. And if the first was included he'd rocket up the list I feel like.
@GoodmanHoops Like, once it's normal and status quo for 26-year-olds to sign as college freshmen -- "inevitable for years now" and not fresh-and-new-anymore -- why should anyone believe that you'll care at all? Your move is that once something bad is normal, it's eternal and unchangeable.
@GoodmanHoops Fully agree! I'm confused why, if "bad for college basketball" is the metric -- and you think both this and tourney expansion are bad -- why your approach to expansion has been "not great but it was inevitable, tourney'll still be fine."
A lotta bad things are inevitable!
@John_Fanta As a piano-player at an airport once per week, I can confirm that all of us adore John Fanta. Come say hi if you ever land at TF Green late on a Tuesday night!
@Spokoiny Yes I agree, it's very confusing why someone running for NYC mayor would translate campaign literature into Yiddish -- a language that over 100,000 people in NYC speak (6th most common language in the city) -- and not Hebrew, which is outside the top 10. Worth wondering indeed!
@BigYapman75837@aberasturi_paul In all sincerity what’s your definition of “elite fanbase?” I have been to around 50 PC games and live in Providence. I covered their games for 2 years and wish the program well.
I can think of no metric by which PC has an “elite fanbase” other than loudness on Twitter.
@GoodmanHoops Amazing how passion just becomes “whining” when you don’t like it.
Out on FO68 for the time being, in on the “whiners” who understand that media isn’t “just the facts” and that the “whining” actually is an exertion of pressure and influence that they have and fans don’t.
@BigYapman75837 You have every midwest team (X, Creighton, MU, Depaul, Butler) ranked either lower than Torvik or the same as him.
X: both 5
Creigh: you 6, him 4
MU: you 7, him 3
Depaul: both 8
Butler: both 10
Worth thinking about if you just tilt toward thinking higher of east coast teams.
