Q8 Summary: Indians are similar to other groups in the sense that remittances back, but they also send remittances to charities which is different from other ethnic groups. I found it interesting how they also used television as a way of transnationalism.

@abi_fredrich I think this could be due to the language barrier, but it could also be that these are very commonly needed things throughout the U.S.; they won't go out of business during seasons or "phases". #gotseoul
@jaredda51798953 I think it is easier for these families with the technology we have today! Many families even do this within the U.S. and we don't even know. #gotseoul
@burkart_andrew This could have been found through other Korean Americans already living here. I think that not having the technology we have now makes it easier to form stereotypes like the American Dream which wasn't even achieved by every American.
@Kurt03478183 @kali_2222 I think a lot of the businesses they run are "women's work". On page 292, it says that 40% of their businesses are personal, repair, and maintenance services. Some of these services are nail salons, wig and beauty supply stores, and laundromats.
@SuzyBogue@MattBougie1@persianofntrest @kali_2222 I think it would make the most sense as basic migration trends show they try to go to the closest region of the new country which would be the west coast for Koreans.
