you should get a certain number of “reading days” per year along with your allotted sick days, so that you can phone your boss and say “I can’t come in to work today, I’m reading in bed” and then you spend the day reading in bed

My current hot take is “Perfect attendance” awards and parties are toxic and shouldn’t be a thing. Especially for elementary kids who have no control over how or when they get to school. It also furthers the toxic “grind” mentality of always working for others and never taking the day off YOU may need.

@elderemo_mama I literally live in this small little town and pay 220 a week in childcare for a 3 year old at a center - when my baby starts it'll be $405/week for 2 the of them. I found another that's $60/day each
