The Vegas Golden Knights are only behind three teams when looking at Stanley Cup Final appearances since 2000....They've only been in the league since 2017 🤯
Quick terms:
NBM - National Blend of Models. Blends multiple weather models together, applying bias corrections and weighting to reduce individual model biases and show the general forecast trend.
PWAT - Precipitable Water. The amount of water vapor in a vertical column of the atmosphere that could potentially condense into water droplets and fall as rain.
A rainy pattern is developing across the Florida peninsula through early next week.
Atlantic ridging remains in place this morning, but an upper-level trough is digging into the eastern US. As the ridge is suppressed south and east through the week, deep Gulf moisture, with PWAT values of 2.0-2.7"+, will advect eastward across the peninsula.
Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening along the sea breeze, with low-level flow veering from southeast to south-southwest, keeping convection focused over inland areas.
Through the rest of the week, flow continues to veer southwest, then west. Increasing moisture supports higher daily rain chances late this week through the weekend and into early next week, with thunderstorms possible at almost any time rather than being tied mainly to the typical daytime heating cycle.
Sunday into Tuesday, the upper trough lingers over the eastern US or western Atlantic. Model guidance diverges on specifics, but ample moisture and elevated storm chances persist.
NBM guidance places the highest accumulated totals across the interior and eastern half of the peninsula, the favored convergence zone under this southwest-to-west flow pattern.

Mid-60s dewpoints, MLCAPE near 2,000–3,000 J/kg, strong deep-layer shear, and a 40–50 kt low-level jet will support discrete supercells capable of very large hail (2–3”+) and a few tornadoes, some potentially strong.
Isolated dryline storms are also possible Sunday evening from western KS into the OK/TX Panhandles as the low-level jet strengthens. Capping limits coverage, but any sustained supercell could produce very large hail.
Through Sunday evening into Sunday night, storms should cluster and grow upscale, shifting the main threat to damaging winds across southeast SD, northwest IA, and southwest MN.
SPC Day 2 Outlook | Sunday 5/17
Enhanced Risk covers central Nebraska into southwest Minnesota. Elevated storms will likely be ongoing Sunday morning across northern NE into IA, with the main severe threat ramping up by Sunday afternoon along the warm front in eastern NE.

Someone watches their first ever hockey game tonight. It's outside in Florida, one team shows up in football uniforms, the other as 1700s Patriots, one coach is Scarface, the goalies fight, and at the end they do a bunch of breakaways to break the tie. Fever dream sport.
2026 Stadium Series was the #NHL’s best outdoor game of 45 so far - not close.
Scene. Vibes. Props. Show. Legit drama. Goalie fight. 4-goal comeback. Overtime.
And Jon Cooper’s endless commitment to the bit in 38-degree weather in (!) Florida.
What a night.
