@smithno2 I have used a few techniques, some digitally, and some where they reflect on paper to specific reflection questions. This always morphs as the skills change and it is nothing elaborate. Simple, yet informative. #Lex1Chat
@smithno2 A5 In science, students will often use argumentative skills to support a controversial issue like GMOs. They are encouraged to take risk and take a stance for what they believe and communicate the belief. #Lex1Chat
@smithno2 In science we did a cell organelle expert project incorporating the research and a presentation on SeeSaw communicating to their peers the importance of the organelle. #Lex1Chat
@smithno2 In science the students had a cell project at one of the stations where they become a cell organelle expert. They have a template for the content and they use Seesaw to communicate the importance and function to their classmates.#Lex1Chat
@smithno2 A3 - It involves students who are communicating with a purpose and the communication can take many forms. The Workshop Model being used in ELA and SS seem to support this well.

@smithno2 A2 I believe that you can embed Power Skills into assignments and projects. A mini-lesson with reminders and expectations could be done and the academic product is enhanced by the quality of those Power skills.

@smithno2 I always encourage questions and have told them many times there are no "dumb" questions. I am very cognisant of how I make them feel so even if they do not provide the correct answer, I try to praise their thinking. Often, I will ask clarifying questions#Lex1Chat
@smithno2 A5 I will provide wait time, I will provide guiding questions to help the student be, and I will ask other students if they can help the student out.#Lex1Chat
@smithno2 If there are several answers embedded in a question, and students disagree, I will ask them to hold the # of fingers to each answer they agree with from the answers.#Lex1Chat
@smithno2@MrsJenniferByrd I did not formally coach them in writing quality questions. I listen to what they are saying and other students will add their questions to the conversation. I do encourage all students to create a question but I will try to have them submit it digitally
