Unfortunately there are “pack feelers” and/or “pack weighers” in most towns and have been for years. You just see more of them now because of where the hobby is today.
In this case he uses his finger nail to shift the cards inside the pack to feel if there is a “hit” and depending on the product it could be as easy as a thicker stock card. Some pack feelers are more aggressive than others thus somewhat damaging the cards inside. Other packs can be weighed or even card shifted inside the pack to see the card number thru the back of the pack to determine a “hit”.
It’s like buying a lottery scratch off card that someone else has already scratched off to see if it was a winner.
Moral of the story is to be very careful buying any retail product unless you see the vendor put the product on the shelf cause there are guys like this everywhere.
@TrickorTreat831@damienleone Can you guys use packing paper or something to protect them when shipping in the future? I pre-ordered a set & they were just floating around in the shipping box getting dinged up & scratched.
