@Deb_Fleming I think you’re forgetting how much of this prizemoney is spent to look after greyhounds. Meat, bread, kibble, vets, vans, petrol, mechanics, rego, race staff, kennel staff, drivers, handlers, checkers, builders, photographers. Racing supports so much more than just participants.

One big myth that needs to be debunked around Greyhound Racing is that we only take from taxpayers.

It takes money to make money and that's exactly what racing does. Every state's budget is better off because of Racing. Tasmania's budget will be worse off from this decision.

Every news article is quick to publish that Tasmanian Greyhounds cost the taxpayers $25 million dollars a year, but none state how much profit it has made for Tasmania's state Budget. Money that goes towards other government services like schools and hospitals
