I got some questions about $STRK in DMs.
Summarizing the answer here since it might interest some ppl.
1⃣ Supply & staking
> STRK total supply is now close to 50% unlocked (~46% atm)
> Of that unlocked supply, over 20% is already staked (yes, because you earn ~10% APY by locking your STRK to secure Starknet).
2⃣ Current utilities
STRK is the:
> governance token of Starknet
> native gas token of Starknet
> asset powering 75% of Starknet’s consensus through staking (the other 25% comes from Bitcoin)
> A flywheel with Bitcoin is running: the more STRK gets staked, the more Bitcoin stakers earn, while STRK inflation stays extremely low (~1%). This brings more BTC to Starknet, strengthens network security, attracts more builders, makes staking STRK even more attractive… and the flywheel keeps spinning.
3⃣ More utilities coming
On top of that:
> a buyback and burn mechanism will be implemented
> a new mechanism to accrue value to STRK is coming in 2026.
just putting this out as information, you know the drill: nfa dyor stay safu.
Stwo's faster proving (handling larger proof circuits in seconds) just supercharges @Starknet's role as Bitcoin's decentralized finance layer.
implication? builders get to build Bitcoin-native apps that process thousands of TPS with Bitcoin security and real privacy from client-side proving.
Bitcoin programmability is now a reality with Starknet as the compute engine.
S-two release is the true game changer for @Starknet
Proofs that took minutes now take seconds (even client-side). Starknet is set to become the privacy layer for Bitcoin and Ethereum finance.
Here are some privacy app ideas you can start building right now 👇
Prediction -- Crypto Gaming Hype will make a comeback!
I've been in crypto since 2013, so I've seen trends come and go, and here's my explanation of Crypto hype, and how to act based on it.
*This is not investment advice, DYOR*
There are 3 things you need to understand:
1. Crypto does not yet have true product market fit. It doesn't yet pass the toothbrush test (everyone uses it twice a day and finds value in that).
2. There's a lot of speculation and anticipation that some day, Crypto will be the basis of our economy and society. That there will be an Integrity Web built on top of the World Wide Web, and we'll rely on it for everything. At that point, it'll pass the toothbrush test, big time. I believe this, and the two projects I co-founded (@Zcash, @Starknet) are playing a large role in this.
3. There's a desire to turn speculation into profit, by investing in tokens. There are a lot of tokens, and a lot of speculation, and what drives prices more than anything is the *speculation* and belief that one day, this or that particular token will be a large part of the Integrity web.
If you understand these 3 points, you'll realize that as long as they hold, we'll see different tokens "shoot to the moon" in a way that seems unexpected and miraculous.
"Who would have thought?" we all say about the latest theme -- first it was Bitcoin (many times over), then Ethereum, later Solana, and NFTs, and memecoins, and Hyperliquid and on and on.
There was a point in time a few years back when everyone went berserk over things like Axie. It was a pretty stupid game, as far as games go, but speculation on its token and price were all the rage.
In my view, it would not surprise me if some other gaming-related crypto assets will have another run, some time in the future. I cannot know which ones will benefit from it this time. I do hope that this time around, they'll be related to good, fun-to-play, games!
THE END.
From Gaming Hub → Builder Ecosystem 🔥
STARK Arcade started as an AI gaming lab - building, incubating & onboarding fun on-chain games on @Starknet.
But as the @StarknetEco grows, so does our mission.
We’re evolving from a gaming hub into a builder ecosystem, empowering devs across BTCFi, AI Agents, Consumer Apps, and beyond.
Our vision remains the same: to onboard the next wave of users onto Starknet through innovative & impactful dApps.
Stay tuned for our upcoming programs, hackathons, and builder events designed to help you bring your ideas to life on Starknet.
Privacy matters – Difference between TEE, ZK, MPC and FHE
Everyone is talking about Privacy on-chain these days, and a lot of cryptographic terms are discussed. As co-inventor of ZK STARKs (post-quantum secure ZK systems) I’ll explain these technologies, what they’re good for, and their limitations.
This is a long explanation, so today we'll start with TEE:
TEE stands for Trusted Execution Environment.
I think of TEE as an attempt to solve the problems of Privacy and Integrity, but they have a serious Trust problem. Let's dive in 🤿
TEE - what is it exactly?
- A TEE is like a computer that’s hidden inside an enclave (a place that no one can look into).
- You send it information using a public key system, meaning everyone can send it encrypted data
- Then, it can decrypt that data, process it with integrity, encrypt it back, sign it for integrity, and send it back to you (in encrypted form).
In theory, it’s a bit like having a direct encrypted line to God, or to some trustworthy machine, and you ask it what to compute, and it does that without leaking any information, hence, you get privacy.
The problem:
This holds only in theory.
Why?
The mentioned enclave is a physical chip that sits inside a computer. Whoever is in possession of that computer and running it can mess around with the TEE and get it to leak information it's not supposed to.
So the privacy you’re guaranteed by the brochures isn’t as tight as you’d think.
The bigger problem:
(aka the problem that implies you should never trust a TEE for running a truly decentralized blockchain)
For a certain amount of $ someone (think Lazarus group) can extract the keys that a TEE uses to (a) decrypt your messages and (b) sign on the integrity of the computation it performs. Once the bad guys have this key, they can sign on *any* payload and also read your messages.
It’s unlikely they’ll do this from afar to the TEE on your smartphone or laptop, which is why you can use it for your own wallet and for small sums. But, and this is the important part, you cannot have a consensus system relying on TEE for trust.
So:
TEEs can be used on end-user devices for securing small amounts of money, and they are OK as security theater, when there’s a central operator that you rely on (but in this case the system is better off acknowledging there’s a central party running it, and that it's not decentralized).
TEEs cannot serve truly decentralized blockchains.
Next time: ZK

Starknet StartUp House Vietnam Recap 🤩🙏
I just walked out of a demo day I’m genuinely proud of. Not calling it a “revolution,” but it did feel like a meaningful step for @Starknet in Vietnam 🇻🇳.
Why we ran this?
The goal was simple: give strong @Starknet projects in Vietnam a real stage to show, not tell. We received a lot of applications and kept the bar high. If a team didn’t have something concrete to demo, we passed, fair to everyone.
People who made it better
Huge thanks to the @StarknetFndn, @omarespejel and @gyanlakshmi joined as judges, shared candid feedback, and helped us keep quality consistent. The event was better because of their support.
Who showed up
Teams came from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and smaller towns that rarely make crypto headlines. What impressed me most: ~85% were new to Cairo, yet they learned fast and still shipped. That takes patience, time, and heart.
What they built
We saw DeFi, gaming, and a strong wave of BitcoinFi and payment projects. Together with the judges, we focused on idea quality, clarity of pitch, and level of completion. If something wasn’t ready, it didn’t go on stage.
Results
The top teams received sponsored passes to @token2049 and a path to the Starknet Foundation’s seed grant program. That’s the outcome we hoped for: strong demos with a real shot at becoming products.
What stuck with me
Beyond the demos, I saw the community forming: founders trading intros, mentors offering time, and new collabs starting right in the hallways. That momentum didn’t come from the @StarkArcade team alone, it came from everyone showing up and helping each other.
What’s next
I’ll keep supporting post–demo day with residency and mentorship so teams can keep building. If you’re serious about Starknet and based in APAC, DM @StarkArcade. I’d love to hear what you’re working on and where you need help.
Final word
I’m grateful to the teams for trusting us, and to Omar & Gyan and the Starknet Foundation for standing with the builders. I’m optimistic about Starknet in Vietnam.
And if you’re not involved yet, consider this your invite. 🐺✨
@carldlfr@starkarcade@StarknetFndn@Starknet thanks brother, we're shifting our focus on BitcoinFi and payment projects at our hub, some big releases are coming soon!
