@MartinBJensen I wonder why siRNA doesn't degrade in the lysosome? Are there synthetic bases and backbone modifications to prevent nuclease binging? And if nucleases aren't binding, how are nuclear import proteins binding?
Seems like an important lever for longer lasting doses.
@LoganTCollins Do you think we can define suffering in the same way for eusocial organisms?
The individual pain response exists, but there might also be a pheremone-based response in other individuals.
The New Hampshire House has again voted in favor of HB 1734 and HB 1735 - two bills to make New Hampshire a hub for experimental therapies.
SB 504 was amended to include both bills and then passed the House 197-145, this time picking up several Democrats.
@emilylmullin Extremely underinvested area compared with in vitro organ engineering. Excited to see where this goes long term and what the restrictions on public buy-in will be.
Maybe there is commercialization potential in agriculture to reduce animal suffering?
🧵 Elon: “Longevity is an extremely solvable problem”
At Vitalist Bay (May 14 - May 17), we’re solving it!

A first in organ transplantation! Announcing the performer teams for PRINT, our program to bioprint universally matched organs on demand—eliminating chronic shortages, long waitlists, and lifelong medication dependence. 🫀 https://t.co/2RXQfpGp7v
Curious how @becoming_ai is generating their placental models. Naive or primed huiPSCs-both? What are they implanting into-matrigel? Do they have syncytioblast, cytotrophoblast, and chorion?
Excited to see where this goes. We aren't stitching together frog embryos anymore!
How do we go from a single cell to a complex organism?
For 50 yrs experimentally meeting the nutritional demands of a growing organism has been a bottleneck in development.
For the first time, we built placental support and predictive tools to make it possible.

Who is in Saint Louis? Where are the biotech and longevity people in Saint Louis?
I’m trying to map the ecosystem: startups, labs, incubators, students, investors, clinicians anyone in biotech, aging, or regenerative medicine.
Let's connect and build a community!
Calling all bio enthusiasts!
I've managed to land a position as a Supplemental Instructor for an undergrad molecular bio class. I need your best tools, resources, and memes for inspiring undergrads! Image related
Biopharma's unfortunate challenge is that even the grand vision of treating all diseases is simply not compelling enough for most people.
We need to also develop medicines that elevate everyday life for the already healthy.
@LivnatJerby@ColumbiaSBI Loved this episode—As an undergrad just learning about immune cell engineering, it was an exciting listen. The Jerby lab's strategy for spacial targeting was elegant and effective. I wonder what engineering strategies could enhance solid tumor penetrance?#SynBio#CancerImmunology
Had a thought in cell bio lecture covering mitosis today:
Cell State is governed by groups of cooperative and antagonistic proteins in feedback loops. Interactions between these groups across time and space produce cell state.
Is this too general / has no predictive power?

Excited to share the second installment of "spare parts", where I cover the different faces of replacement for longevity!
In this installment I tackle artificial organs, an amazing area of research that holds great potential.
