@Teachers__Unite I'm very concerned with the equity here. Schools do not have the tech to support this, and many students do not have access to devices at home.
10 years ago, my family came to Canada as refugees.
Today, we cut the ribbon of our newest @Peacebychoco boutique, the first at Halifax Stanfield International Airport and our joy is indescribable. Canada is a country that is bigger-hearted than words could ever say. We came here to start over. Today, we get to give back to our amazing community.

Maryam Mirzakhani, the first woman to win the Fields Medal in mathematics (the Nobel of mathematics), studied at Sharif University of Technology - which was just bombed by US-Israel. No US woman has ever win a Fields medal. The moral descent of USA continues lower and lower.
Canada calls on Iran to halt plans to execute 8 people convicted of offences during the January 2026 nationwide protests and to stop unfair trials against at least 22 others, including two minors.
This is the power of unity and public rage in Iran.
I received this message and videos from Iran:
“Hi Masih, Yesterday, regime forces raided the home of Yaghoob Mohammadi, a teacher in Abdanan. They beat his family with batons and violently arrested him. But the people did not stay silent. They gathered in front of his home, protested, and warned the authorities.
Today, out of fear of the people of Abdanan and their strike, they were forced to release him. People flooded the streets and protested in front of the governor’s office until he was freed.
Hope for a free Iran✌🏻”

Children are among at least 30 people at risk of the death penalty in #Iran after being convicted of committing offences during the Jan 2026 nationwide protests
Amnesty International is calling on the Iranian authorities to immediately quash the convictions and death sentences
I know the news cycle moves fast but in case you missed it,
Tumbler Ridge survivor, Maya, has started breathing on her own. Her family posted “Maya has been moved into a new section, one for recovery, instead of goodbyes.”
When you understand that these students risked their lives to do this for their teacher whose son was killed in the recent uprisings, you’ll appreciate just how remarkable this clip is.

Just look at the smiles on the faces of @TorontoPolice.
Over 570,000 people attended the Global Day of Solidarity for Iran in Toronto.
Zero incidents.
Instead, Iranians were cheering and thanking police.
This is Iranian culture.
As we continue to grieve the pain and loss caused by violence in Tumbler Ridge, we are reminded that tragedy should never be used to justify hate.
We condemn attempts to target trans and gender‑diverse people, and we will not let fear divide our communities.
