Jaw-dropping hypocrisy: The US backed a political coup to overthrow Pakistan's elected PM Imran Khan (the most popular politician in the country), who was imprisoned on bogus charges and prevented from running in the election.

But the US claims the coup regime has "free and fair elections".

The coup regime has also destroyed Khan's party PTI, imprisoning and exiling its leaders; while also killing protesters; banning the media from broadcasting Khan's speeches; and even trying civilians in military courts for the "crime" of criticizing it on social media.

Yet US Secretary of State Antony Blinken claims this brutal authoritarian regime is protecting "the rights to freedom of speech and assembly".

Reality is crazier than satire.
