@DarraghOBrienTD it is Gov and YOUR responsibility to ENSURE that all citizens can afford food and heating, the most basic human needs! so how can YOU justify such grinding increases - advance warnings are insulting.

ESB profits (last 5 years)
2024: €706 million
2023: €868 million
2022: ~€650 million (approx.)
2021: ~€390 million (approx.)
2020: ~€126 million (approx.)
What happened in 2022 ,very large increase.
@DarraghOBrienTD if these annual profits, which accrue to the State, are accurate, this is State gouging its citizens during a period of crushing cost of living increases. how can you justify further increases?
@GregDaly I got a shelves at picture rail height - 3 sides of room. even on a non-brick wall. rest shelf on door frame and stack to ceiling. got fancy bronze shelf supports. would post picture but sold apartment. same shelving planned for new home.
@keira_con the fuel protests happened because people are suffering, we live week to week, & if we are lucky pay cheque to paycheque. Varadkar is megaphone describing our Gov's bullhorned POV & behaviour. They are asset stripping our country. another 800years anyone?
@brianmlucey you need to get out more. perhaps speak to peaceful protesters & understand their financial difficulties. they are being vilified & financially penalised because they have no option but to use fossil fuels. how does your food get to your nearest shop?
@SimonHarrisTD peaceful protest is legal. it is not sinister or despicable.. what is hugely disturbing is the deployment of our Army against peaceful protesters by FFG. C70 aid to civil power should not be used against us.
