Wishing you a wonderful new year that only brings good news.
As the world continues to fight the pandemic, we wish for strength and good health for you and your family this new year. #NewYear2022
The @scotlibdems#PutRecoveryFirst in negotiations on the Scottish budget - this is what we negotiated. Our big hits were mental health, education and business support.
Everyone is affected by the environment. The cross-party budget we will vote for this week includes £2m of extra money for it. We have consistently led on this issue in South Lanarkshire, and it was important the cross-party budget included this funding to help our environment.
Many of us have become more aware of our local environment this last year. The nature trail, green belt and other outdoor spaces are important assets and we need to make sure people can enjoy them, stay active and live healthier and happier lives.
This shows it was well-worth doing the hard work and taking part in the cross-party budget negotiations. The measure is part of the agreement we've reached with the Independent, Conservative and SNP groups to pass a cross-party budget tomorrow.
Liberal Democrats Group led in securing this significant extra funding to provide much-needed support for children and young people, helping them overcome the damage done to their education and wellbeing by the pandemic.
2020 has been a year like no other.
Let’s now look forward to a new year, one that is looking more hopeful and bright.
Wishing you and yours a safe, healthy, and peaceful new year! #NewYear2021#GoodBye2020

People usually pay their council tax in 10 monthly instalments, with nothing coming off in February and March. Instead, we would like everyone to be able to choose which two months they don't have anything to pay. #StayAtHomeAndStaySafe
COUNCIL TAX PAYMENT HOLIDAYS should be offered to help @SouthLanCouncil residents struggling through the Covid crisis. We want other parties to back the Lib Dem plan and ease pressure on people whose income has dropped. #COVIDー19#counciltax
We have heard from many people who have seen their incomes reduce massively. Furloughed workers who have lost at least a fifth of their wages, and many self-employed and people on zero-hours contracts who have absolutely no money coming in at all.
Undoubtedly there are issues about the national response , about NHS funding and pay and above all about the slow pace of testing and supply of protective equipment. We also recognise the many other keyworkers who have bravely supported us all through these difficult times.
Local Liberal Democrats have joined calls to award our NHS the George Cross collectively. - Britain's highest civilian honour for gallantry to recognise the heroic work done by them during the coronavirus crisis.
What do people think? #georgecross#NHS#NHSCovidHeroes
**Shout out to @SouthLanCouncil Carers**
Radio 4 You and Yours around 12.40 today a caller who cannot thank South Lanarkshire Council enough. Carers visiting his elderly parents several times a week. A hot meal delivered each day. Shopping delivered. WELL DONE #StaySafe
Easter reminds us of forgiveness, compassion, kindness, principles shown by people of all faiths and none. We have seen such compassion and kindness in communities during this pandemic and offer our thanks. To all Christians and non-Christians -A joyful Easter. #EasterSunday2020
and make sure our NHS, care services and other frontline workers get the protective equipment they need without any further delay.
#PPE#Covid19#PPEShortages#NHS
Health & care workers must get the kit they need to feel safe helping others. We're weeks into this crisis and councils and home care companies still can't get vital PPE, despite the Scottish & UK governments promising stocks are there. #PPE#Covid19#PPEShortages#NHS
Ministers need to finally fix whatever is holding up delivery to the frontline. South Lanarkshire Council's Liberal Democrat Group has appealed to both governments to explain the full position #PPE#Covid19#PPEShortages#NHS
