Reminder: just because it’s a new year, you don’t need to re-invent yourself 💛
Sometimes, the best New Year’s resolutions aren’t for huge changes and a new you, but to go easier on yourself, and focus on looking after your mental wellbeing.

The festive period can be challenging for many of us. Busy schedules, financial pressure and family expectations can all take a toll, but remember, you don’t need to do everything, be everywhere, or feel festive all the time. Small steps can make a big difference.
For more Mental Health Tips, visit Back Onside’s website for our mental health toolkits. We’re here to help 💛
For nearly 8 years since Back Onside was founded, we are still going into schools and providing vital Suicide Prevention Workshops — helping educate young people and equip them with the tools to look after themselves and support others.
These workshops focus on recognising early signs of struggle, knowing how to reach out for help, understanding safe ways to talk about suicide and mental health, and building confidence to check in on friends. Our aim is to empower pupils with practical knowledge, break the stigma and ensure they know where to turn if they ever need support.
If your school or organisation is interested in learning more or arranging a workshop, please contact [email protected]. We’d love to hear from you 💛
✨ BACK ONSIDE’S CHRISTMAS WISH LIST ✨
This Christmas, you can help make a difference with Back Onside’s Amazon Wish List.
We are supporting a growing number of service users who are under significant financial pressure this year and we’re doing everything we can to ensure that they, and their children, receive something special over the festive period.
For many of the individuals we support, gifts at Christmas aren’t luxuries, they’re essential items that many of us might take for granted. Simple things like toiletries, small toys for their child or vouchers for basic household items can bring comfort, dignity, and relief during a particularly challenging period.
We know first-hand the huge impact these small gestures can have on someone’s mental health, especially during the festive season, which can be overwhelming for those already struggling.
Today, we’re asking if you can please browse the list, pick a gift, and help make someone’s Christmas a little brighter. Every item on the list goes directly to someone in need, offering support and a reminder that they are not alone.
Thank you in advance 💛

From my first wee school gig to years of graft in pubs, and twenty years of writing songs in bedrooms, basements and buses… it’s all led to tonight at @ovohydro . What a journey it’s been. I know so many of you are already out there, raising a well-deserved dram or two before heading in.
Bring the noise. Bring the love. Let’s make this the night of our lives.
On stage at 8:45pm 🔥❤️
Today, we’re sharing Andrew’s story.
When Andrew was experiencing the toughest times of his life, Back Onside was his lifeline. Back Onside supported him when he felt there was no way out, and we are so beyond proud of how far he has come.
It was Andrew’s story that inspired us to create our advert in line with the “More Than Just a Brew” campaign. For Andrew, that first coffee on a very bad night changed everything for him.
Please, donate to Back Onside today, to help us help more people like Andrew.
Thank you Andrew for sharing your story 💛

Last week, we presented a Suicide Prevention Workshop to @balfronhighsc , one of our local schools, as part of the Sandy Holroyd Memorial Rugby Tournament 💛
The workshop included chats about all things mental health and wellness, and opportunities for pupils to share, with our Clinical Lead Jane and personal development coach Amanda.
We’re hugely impressed at the participation of the senior pupils, and are grateful for their commitment to our workshop and their own personal mental wellbeing.
If you’re interested in hosting a Mental Health workshop at your school, club or workplace, email [email protected] today.
We’d love to hear from you 👋🏽
