The dog was a member of the police department, not just a dog. That officer was its handler and he owed him care and protection just like the dog was trained to do for him and his fellow officers.

States have laws specifically protecting police animals. And aside from all that- it’s cruelty to starve an animal raised to be dependent upon you.

Again, common toddler sense here.

Scott Michael Johnson was a 26 year old securities analyst working on the 89th floor of the South Tower on September 11, 2001.

An avid traveller, his remains (in the form of a bone fragment) weren't identified until 2018 through newer DNA techniques. He was the 1642th victim identified from the World Trade Center site; roughly 40% of victims remain unidentified due to the devastation of the attacks.

Scott Michael Johnson was from New Jersey and was an employee of Keefe, Bruyette and Woods.

Lauren Grandcolas was pregnant with her first child on 9/11 when she was m*rdered, along with 39 others on Flight 93.

She was flying home from a funeral and, as she'd arrived at the airport early, she was bumped to the earlier flight 93, already targeted by hijackers. Her Jack husband has said that was the first time she'd ever been early for a flight.

Flight 93 was delayed and the last to be hijacked, resulting in a revolt by passengers who were well aware of their fate otherwise.

Grandcolas called her husband Jack and left a message (below) that there was a "problem with the plane" before the final fight between the passengers and the 4 hijackers.

Hijacker pilot Ziad Jarrah tried various maneuvers to knock the passengers off balance, one hijacker was likely k*lled by the passengers as per audio only heard by officials and family members.

The last words on the recording are of the hijackers deciding to crash the plane with two of them yelling "Allah Akbar" as they drove the flight into the ground in Pennsylvania.

Some of the youngest victims of 9/11 were kids on Flight 77 on their way to a National Geographic marine biology field trip in California.

Asia Cottom, 11, had been selected by National Geographic for an essay she'd written. She boarded Flight 77 along with fellow students Rodney Dickens and Bernard C. Brown and teachers Sara Clark and Hilda Taylor, all seen here at the gate just before boarding on 9/11.

Zoe and Dana Falkenberg, ages 8 and 3, were also on the flight traveling with their parents.

Asia Cottom had stayed up late the night before, excited to get to swim with the dolphins in California. She told her mom she'd just sleep on the plane.

Hijackers Hani Hanjour, Nawaf al-Hazmi, Salem al-Hazmi, Khalid al-Mihdhar and Majed Moqed would've seen all of these kids as they waited to board. They probably saw the National Geographic kids pose for this photo.

They didn't care. They m*rdered them along with 45 other passengers and 125 on the ground when they flew Flight 77 into the Pentagon.

For some people, I do feel bad, especially if they did come here to build a better life. Many Haitians HAVE lived in South Florida for decades now and have become citizens. The ones that came here under TPS didn’t do anything wrong. Our government toyed with people’s lives w/ TPS and encouraging mass migration. I ONLY AGREE WITH LEGAL IMMIGRATION but some of them really do just want a better life. As Trump said, Haiti is a hellhole.

🚨 A 9/11 HERO DIED EARLY THIS MORNING. NOW HIS FAMILY NEEDS OUR HELP TO LAY HIM TO REST. 🇺🇸

Early this morning, my good friend John Joseph Hannan passed away after battling a rare and extremely aggressive cancer.

John was a retired NYPD Detective and a 9/11 first responder.

On September 11, 2001, while Americans were running from unimaginable horror, John was one of the brave men who ran toward it. He answered the call to serve when his city and his country needed him most.

And ultimately, that service cost him his health and his life.

John developed leiomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that was formally certified as 9/11-related - caused by his exposure while serving as a first responder following the attacks.

More than two decades after that terrible day, 9/11 is still taking our heroes from us.

John sacrificed everything for his country, including his own health. He spent his life protecting and serving other people, never knowing that the toxic environment he was exposed to while answering America’s call would eventually lead to the cancer that took his life.

Now his family is grieving a husband, a father, a Papa, and a man they loved beyond words.

And they need our help laying him to rest.

I am incredibly honored to call John my friend, and even more honored to do this for his family. I have set up a fundraiser to help cover his burial, funeral, memorial, and other final expenses so that his family can focus on grieving and honoring the man they loved instead of worrying about how they are going to pay to bury him.

John’s name will be placed on the 9/11 Memorial, ensuring that his sacrifice is remembered alongside the other heroes we continued to lose long after September 11, 2001.

But we don’t have to wait for a memorial to remember what he gave.

John showed up for America when America needed him.

Now I’m asking America to show up for John.
