मगर तब क्या हो जब प्रेम ही आपको मरने न दे!

आप बरसों जिये जा रहे हैं. उस प्रेम को हृदय में लिए, जो शायद है भी नहीं. या कहीं है, जो हमें नहीं दिख रहा. हमारे भीतर.

बड़ा सुंदर संवाद है इम्तियाज अली की नई फिल्म 'मैं वापस आऊंगा' में. क्या कुछ किया जा सकता था. अगर इम्तियाज अली मार्का सिनेमा न होता तो. वही इस फिल्म में किया गया है. एवॉल्यूशन. वो आदमी जिसको हमने सिर्फ प्रेम के खांचे ने फिट किया, वो पिंजरा तोड़कर निकला है. आज़ाद हुआ है. या होना चाहता है. उस दौर में जब जब भारत आज़ाद नहीं था. ये कहानी सेट है विभाजन के दौर में. किसी को डीमनाइज़ किए बिना, ये फिल्म वो कहती है, जो इसे लगता है. बिना किसी लाग-लपेट. कुछ दृश्य ऐसे हैं, जिनमें आंखें मूंद लेने का मन करता है. इतने वीभत्स. विस्थापन के जीवन पर्यंत दर्द और विभाजन के दंश का अन्वेषण है ये फिल्म. मगर ये उसका शरीर है. प्रेम, आत्मा है.

इक्को ही कहानी बस बदले ज़माना

एक शख्स है जो मरना ही नहीं चाहता. ज़ोर से चिल्लाता है, मानों, अपने अतीत का आह्वान कर रहा हो. लोग घबराते हैं, उसकी आवाज़ से. जिस आदमी की सांस अटकी हुई है. उसके पास इतनी ताकत कहां से आ रही है? बहू को लगता है वो मर जाएगी. किसी दिन इस आदमी की चीख सुनकर. क्योंकि उसने चीखें सुनी नहीं हैं. उनकी, जिनकी वो आखिरी चीख थी. ये बुड्ढे को सब याद है. बाकी भूल गया. मार्स पे रहने वालों को याद करता है. Martian, जो धरती के रहवासी नहीं हो सकते. ऐसा वो सोचता था. हम मार्स वासियों के बीच ही रह रहे हैं. इल्हाम की कमी. इग्नोरेंस. या मजबूरी! ये मार्शियन वैसे ही हैं, जैसे 'लाल सिंह चड्ढा' में मलेरिया था.

मैं वापस आता हूं , 'मैं वापस आऊंगा' पर. हृदयविरारक किस्म का सिनेमा. मगर दुखी नहीं करता. प्रेम में, उम्मीद में छोड़कर जाता नहीं, साथ रहता है सिनेमाघर के बाहर तक.

सुधीर मिश्रा ने ये फिल्म देखने के बाद इम्तियाज़ के लिए लिखा-

"तकलीफ को बिना नकारे, उम्मीद की आस में रहना, कितना मुश्किल होता है, ये इम्तियाज़ को दिखाना आता है."

मैं खुद के अलावा किसी बंटवारे या आज़ादी की लड़ाई का हिस्सा नहीं रहा. जो हिस्से मुझसे अलग हो गए, या जिनसे मैं अलग हो गया, वो आज भी मुझे याद हैं. बताने पर कोई समझेगा नहीं. वो खुद ही भुगतना है. आगे की बात संवाद में करेंगे

पाली दादा यानी इशर का छोटा भाई. इशर कौन? वही बूढ़ा आदमी.

पाली दादा-

"वीर जी ने कहा था, पाली ये दुनिया खत्म हो गई. दोबारा मुड़कर नहीं देखना. अगर मैं बताऊंगा तो तुम लोगों को लगेगा कि किसी कौम को बुरा कह रहा हूं. मगर वो समय ही ऐसा था. इंसान इंसान को खाना चाहता था. इसलिए मैं इस कहानी को अपने साथ लेकर मरना चाहता हूं."

चुप्पी!

निर्वैर (इशर का पोता)-

"तो क्या आप चाहते हैं कि ये ज़हर हम तक भी पहुंचे? अगर दादाजी बिना कुछ बताए मर जाएंगे, तो वो हम तक नहीं आएगा? हम नहीं जानने चाहेंगे कि वो कौन सी बात थी, जो दादाजी बिना बताए मर गये?"

किस्सा शुरू...

एक लड़का है, जिसे बंटवारे में कुछ नहीं मिला. प्रेम, परिवार, घर सब छूट गया. एक ऐसी जगह जाना पड़ा, जहां वो रहवासी नहीं, मुहाजिर था. वो उस विस्थापन से कभी उबर नहीं सका. मगर नाउम्मीद नहीं हुआ. उसे यकीन था कि वो वापस जाएगा. उसके इस यकीन की बुनियाद थी जिया. वही जिया, जिसकी वजह से वो मर नहीं पा रहा है. वो आदमी अब भी एक ऐसी महिला के साथ प्रेम में है, जिसे उसने 78 सालों से नहीं देखा.

वो है दूसरी तरफ. सरगोधा में. है भी कि नहीं!

बंदा मिल पाएगा उससे?

वहाँ तक आप दोनों कैसे पहुंचेंगे, वहीं सिनेमा है. नसीर ले जायेंगे.
