I know I've been quiet here lately, but still been workin' on the game - but if you want an update on things, I did just post a dev update video over on Lily's Library - https://t.co/cjNGMtRwSZ
I know I've been quiet here, but just as a heads up, the Librarian Idyll discord is being rolled into Lily's main discord. The same sort of updates will be in the LI section there, but just part of the Lily's Library server. https://t.co/oHPeaU0QVd
Been working on the end-of-day screen, which will show information like how much renown the library has earned today, who visited today, what new books were added, how much patronage was left, etc.
That said it looks like crap still so pictures will wait until there's art. >_<
Working on building the Renown system, which is the measure of how well your library is doing (in the eyes of the Council of Bibiliomancy), which increases the overall rank of your library, as well as allows you to request goods and services from the Council.
With some new graphics for dialogue and readable books, Pre-Alpha 4.5 is now complete!
I'm fairly happy with how this update turned out - it's not the flashiest of things, but overall, solid progress.
Not sure what 4.6's focus is gonna be, but gonna sleep on it and see.
Been kinda quiet of this end - been doing a ton of book writing lately - see the thread on @LilyHaaron which I retweeted earlier this week.
Other than that, brining Pre-Alpha 4.5 to a close soon, but to do that it's mostly a bunch of background tweaks and bug fixes.
Dialogue boxes and the root conversation menus though are going to get new graphics that match the journal's, so I'll have pictures of those soon (as soon as I get off my butt and make them).
Been doing a bunch of changes to the dialogue system lately - don't have anything to show right now, but it makes adding dialogue much smoother and cleaned up the code considerably.
Just wrapped up Pre-Alpha 4.4 here, bringing the implementation of the lore system to a close.
I honestly spent more time than I was meaning to on this update and feature, but life happens and I ended up putting a lore more into the feature than I originally expected.
Been doing a bunch of cleanup and organization of non-code project files the last few days - nothing really to show for it, although it's something that needed to be done and is useful in the long run.
Using the tech for the lore system's glossary to also provide a tab defining all console commands if playing with Dev Mode on (which will be a simple setting to be toggled from the main menu and gives access to the dev console in-game).
Using the lore system in the player's journal to add a glossary of terms, which can be used as an out-of-conversation lookup of terms (both lore-wise and gameplay stuff), and have more info than a tooltip might.
Been working on way getting the lore system working, and now the lore links can finally be clicked on to give context for various things you find in books and dialogue!
And after a few misc. tasks I wanted to get done, I can finally wrap up Pre-Alpha 4.3 - Quyn!
I am extremely happy with how this update has turned out, and I'm excited for stuff we can do with this menu system going forward.
