Farewell to our Children's Mental Health Week Display. We are signed up to The Great WBD Footy & Booky Quiz & the Shakespeare Week Q&A with Maz Evans. Reading Plus secondary School New Year Challenge week 5, we're currently 9th with a 14.6 average lessons read. #WeAreSouthShore
We signed up to take part in the Reading Plus @DaisyEduUK, Secondary Schools New Year Challenge. We are now at the midway point (Week 3) & sit in 8th out of the 53 registered UK Schools. I will post again once the Week 6 Competition End data becomes available. #WeAreSouthShore

We recieved some fantastic copies of 'A Blackpool Banquet' from Blackpool National Literacy Trust @Literacy_Trust in partnership with Blackpool Council. The books contain a collection of stories, recipes & poems submitted by schools and communities in Blackpool. #WeAreSouthShore
Some of our new December display covering Christmas, Hannukah, Winter and Snow. Our student librarians have chosen a great range of book titles from our Reading Cloud stock reading lists. We're also using our winter themes as background ambience through the month #WeAreSouthShore
We also had an in school author workshop with Poet Ruth Awolola. This session ran from 11:15 today. Our school was selected to recieve the visit as part of Young Poets Week, courtesy of the @Literacy_Trust. Ruth shared her poetry and worked with our students #WeAreSouthShore
We took part in the National Literacy Trust, Young Poet Laureate, live online masterclass with the fabulous Nikita Gill and Karl Nova. The event ran from 10am on Tuesday 25th of November. #WeAreSouthShore
