Honours students in Sociology and Social Anthropology attended a session at Special Collections focused on working with primary sources. During the session, students engaged with manuscript documents from archival collections, learning how to analyse and interpret materials.

Special Collections hosted the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Class of 2026, showcasing a range of primary resources. The session introduced students to unique archival materials, highlighting their value for teaching, research, and historical inquiry.

Rebekka Sandmeier, a professor of musicology at the South African College of Music, University of Cape Town, is currently in residence at STIAS. Her research focuses on Ms 277, Jan Bouws Collection, which has led her to explore Ms 210, G.G. Cillié.

Prof. Leanne Dreyer and Wiida Fourie-Basson are currently working on something truly special. They're diving into (Ms 407 ) A.V Duthie Collection, a treasure trove of botanical history. The Duthie Collection is known for its incredible botanical significance.
