The #WorldCup is a celebration of #football. But football’s values mean little if FIFA stays silent when footballers are imprisoned & executed.
We ask #FIFA President #Infantino to act on FIFA’s own human rights commitments.
Our open letter on Iran ahead of the match tonight:
Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Los Angeles stadium ahead of Iran's first match at the FIFA World Cup, waving anti-government signs and flags and chanting slogans against the Islamic Republic of Iran https://t.co/xscbnWWeBY
Demonstrators amassed outside Iran’s first World Cup match, waving the pre-revolutionary lion-and-sun flags banned inside the stadium and calling for change in Tehran. https://t.co/HnivZvjiDb
#Iran's regime is carrying out near-daily executions of prisoners in secrecy and, in some cases, refusing to hand the bodies of the dead to their families, according to rights groups and sources close to the relatives of the dead.

The Islamic Republic regime has murdered tens of thousands of its own people in what analysts describe as one of the largest state killings in modern history, yet Iranians continue their calls for freedom. Read the full comment: https://t.co/fnrcaFyl28
🚨 Tehran’s police chief just exposed the truth - it was the regime, not foreign agents, that massacred protesters.
For months, the regime and its Western apologists blamed the January massacre on “Mossad/CIA agents.”
Now Ahmad Reza Radan himself calls it a “second war” and an “urban war” against Iranians and admits pride in it.
This wasn’t foreign interference. It was the Islamic Republic regime waging war on its own people where over 45,000 unarmed Iranian protestors were massacred.
Lies don’t stay hidden forever.
The 24-year-old Iranian student and computer technician Amirali Miriafari was hanged by the Islamic regime in Iran today.
He was arrested during the anti-regime protests in January and accused of setting the Gholhak Grand Mosque in Tehran of fire
Rest in Peace Amirali 💔
We have all heard about Europe’s gas prices going through the roof and flights getting canceled everywhere.
Hey Europeans, just wanted to let you know the Iranian people strongly condemn these crazy high prices. We are watching the situation very closely.
Look, it’s a brutal mess, no doubt. But change has to come from within.
Keep the faith in diplomacy, don’t give up on peaceful negotiations with those gas prices. They’ll listen eventually.
Talk it out, lads. You’ve got this.
A trend is starting among Persian accounts on X right now.
Every time Europeans start crying about skyrocketing gas prices, and how America must help by opening the straight of Hormuz, Iranians hit them with the exact same condescending lines European politicians and influencers used during the Iran protests:
"The reduction of gas prices in Europe must be brought about by the European people themselves, not by foreign agents."
Iran executed at least 1,639 people in 2025, the highest number since 1989, NGOs say.
The number of executions represented an increase of 68% on the 975 people Iran put to death in 2024

1000 hours of not being able to contact your family.
1000 hours without news from the outside world.
1000 hours without access to essential information.
90 million people in Iran have now lived under digital darkness for 1000 hours.
Iranian authorities have cut off Iranians from the outside world since 28 February, preventing people from accessing essential information and contacting loved ones.
Internet shutdowns are a human rights issue.
Authorities must immediately restore internet access.
🔴 Iran is recruiting children as young as 12 to “defend the homeland” in a new nationwide campaign for the US-Israeli war, with registration booths set up at mosques across Tehran.

Iran has publicly executed Saleh Mohammadi, a teenage member of the country’s national wrestling team, who was arrested during January’s protests.
He was executed despite evidence that his family said proved he had been elsewhere at the time
