"Resident Evil 3: Nemesis" (1999) was in development alongside “Resident Evil: Code Veronica” (2000), the series’ Dreamcast debut. With Claire and Chris Redfield already slated for "Veronica,” original Resident Evil (1996) protagonist Jill Valentine took center stage for RE 3.
