Fun day at the office today, watching so many news outlets run stories on our record-breaking $500k wrongful DUI arrest settlement for the record-breaking lack of accountability at Fort Collins PD. Oh and spoiler alert - we got more coming in weeks ahead

Today we sued Fort Collins for ANOTHER wrongful DUI arrest. 6th suit in 3 yrs. A sober 20-yr-old student who blew zeros, arrested by cops who muted their bodycams and searched his car "just for the rep." They found a water bottle. Press release here: https://t.co/XarBR66e5F
As far as we can tell, $500,000 is the most any city in America has ever paid for a single wrongful DUI arrest. Ft Collins didn't set that record by accident. It set it by incentivizing DUI arrests and ignoring years of red flags from this former officer.

$500,000. That's what Fort Collins paid my client Jesse Cunningham – believed to be the largest wrongful DUI arrest settlement in American history. A sober combat veteran. Blood: "None detected." For everything. And stay tuned - tomorrow, there's more. https://t.co/zkJGI77p9n
As always, our friends at @LackLusterYT did an extraordinary job with this deep dive into the tragic facts and historic outcome of our clients' case involving a Loveland PD cop who shot and killed their puppy Herkimer. Thank you @LacklusterYT! https://t.co/qYULFiB30p
People would be horrified to know how often cops kill pets that pose no threat. In this case, a family dog ran over to an officer with his tail wagging, and the cop responding by executing him. Unreal cowardice. Glad to see this family get $675,000, as many get nothing at all.
Great coverage of our clients' case by @reason - A Colorado Town Will Pay $675,000 To Settle a Lawsuit After a Police Officer Shot a Family's Dog https://t.co/iKlA20AJRS
An officer pepper-sprayed our client Andru's eyes from two inches away for refusing a paper summons. FCPS exonerated cop and gave him a Medal of Merit. Fort Collins now pays $397,000 to settle. The problem isn't a few bad apples – it's the leadership. https://t.co/NVD4HDIwKf
Wendy and Jay are two of the bravest people I’ve ever represented. They’ll never get their puppy back. But thanks to their courageous fight, they got policy/training changes and the highest settlement ever paid in Colorado history for a dog shooting. https://t.co/vJxuNmoFm3
SETTLED: Loveland Police will pay $675,000 — the largest dog-shooting settlement in CO history — plus new policies & recurring Dog Protection Act training, after Officer Grashorn killed our clients' friendly dog Herkimer. Case details, video & docs: https://t.co/asW7LyJcLE

The amount of people who think civilians should always remain calm around law enforcement but give “trained” law enforcement passes to be scared or excitable is truly astounding
We’ve known for years that “field sobriety tests” are junk science
“after giving roadside field sobriety test officers classified 49% of the placebo group –the sober group - impaired”
“You’re seeing a level of false positives that if we were grading in a classroom, you would not pass”
