I have spent much of my life at war. Seeing the worst of what the human condition has to offer. Yet the sight of that woman cut down on a Charlotte train may be among the worst things my eyes have ever taken in.
It strikes deeper as a Soldier. Because it confuses the very purpose of what we fight for. The Army is outwardly focused, our steel pointed beyond the horizon. But here, at home, the innocent are being slain in the open. And it tears at the fabric of what we believe we are defending.
So we plead to the leaders of our cities: surge against crime and shield your people. We call upon the judges: put the wolves behind bars where they belong. We beg for the rule of law to once again mean something real.
Because when people lose faith in the walls meant to guard them, they build their own. And those walls are sharpened into weapons. I know where that road leads. I saw it overseas. There is no army that can stop the wildfire of sectarian hate once it is lit.
Do something, now. For hate is already at a fever pitch. And when hate boils over, history teaches us what follows.
A darkness that spares no one.
@nicksortor What else is happening right now? Is this slight of hand? May Almighty God reveal his plan in this and provide comfort to those in fear and healing to those needing it now. May God guide the USA and the world into his own way.

@realDonaldTrump No. I'm not celebrating "pride." I do pray for those being tortured and dehumanized anywhere in the world. That's plain wrong. Treat all people with respect and dignity every day of the year, but this pride nonsense has to stop.
