It’s amazing to me how many “intelligent” people on the right, completely lose their ability to critically think when it comes to matters on their side. The left has this problem too, but for arguments sake, focus on our side of the aisle. This tribalistic, hive mentality is going to be our downfall. Right now we are watching in real time, the mindless circling of the wagons and the complete evisceration of fellow GOPers, over the newfound positions this administration seems to be taking in Iran, these positions are completely at odds with everything they have espoused for years.
Positions like, Iran never having a nuclear program (even civilian one), Iran never having a ballistic missile program, Iran not being able to fund terror proxies, Iran not charging tolls in the strait… all of these, according to the MOU, are left on the table. Instead of asking questions, this mindless cult is attacking those of us who are justifiably concerned. It’s amazing to me that these people (including our VP) would rather call us neocons and war mongers and push us out of the tent, than actually sit down and have a genuine dialogue…. People who have winning arguments don’t usually run from dialogue and stoop to personal attacks.
Overnight, the leader of Lebanon’s largest Christian party released a statement begging President Trump and Vice President Vance to change course on this deal. He knows that, under the terms of the memorandum of understanding, Iran can fund Hezbollah, but Israel cannoot destroy Hezbollah. He wrote, in part, “[E]nding the military and security presence of "Hezbollah" constitutes, in our view, the greatest contribution that can be made to the Christians of Lebanon and to all Lebanese people, as it opens the door to building the state we all aspire to: an effective, sovereign state that is free, strong, and capable of ensuring security, stability, and prosperity for all its citizens.”

@sarahadams I just don't like being gaslit and lied to and told not to believe what we see or what we hear.... and then being attacked when pointing out the obvious that it never ends well naively thinking that you can negotiate with people that want to kill you.
The argument is not about ending the conflict, everyone wants this conflict to end. The issue is achieving that goal smartly while ensuring that the agitators, the literal terrorists of Iran, don't come out of this conflict stronger than before, which they arguably are. Waivers to sell Iranian oil on the open market, the regime raking in $150-$200 million dollars a day as a result, getting to keep their nuclear program, their ballistic missile program, getting sanctions relief.... the oil waivers and sanctions relief are being implemented now, as we speak, even before the Iranians have had to prove anything. We are not ending this conflict from a position of strength, we broadcasted to the world that this "decimated" regime, with no air force or navy, a regime that was economically on the verge of collapse, all they have to do is shut down the strait and threaten world oil supply and we fold. Boots on the ground is the only way we could ever forcefully open the strait, that won't ever fly in the US... they know that. I remember ten years ago these same voices beating their chests proclaiming what a win this is for POTUS and our country, having massive issues with the appeasement of the JPCOA, but here we are doing the same exact thing, its transactional diplomacy, with terrorists. it's appeasement, its throwing all of what we know, all of their historic actions out of the window and pretending they can and will be anything than what they are. Terrorists.
By murdering citizens you mean Hezbollah terrorists… got it. I read your comment a few times and just honestly am at a loss. You clearly have been taken over by the conspiracy Jew hating brain rot that has been infecting the simpletons of our nation lately and there is just no point in trying to reason that out of you, you cannot reason with insane people.
One thing I will say before I end this conversation, you people claim Jews worship Baal, he is their puppet master because the Israelites thousands of years ago worshipped him when they lived near the canaanites (he was their god of fertility). That belief system is derived from the Old Testament, the very Old Testament that you people claim to be invalid and needing to be thrown out and disregarded as having no importance. Yet you cherry pick from it about something that happened thousands of years ago so you can fit it into your conspiracies in the present. Kind of funny. 🤦🏻♀️ Making a talking point entirely from source material your side deems faulty. Your stupidity is showing. You cannot have it both ways.
Now show the parts of the poll that aren’t flattering, that say Iran came out on top, that nothing will change, that say that this wasn’t worth the cost…. You don’t want to show it because it shows just how unpopular this conflict and MOU are to the majority of Americans. 68% of respondents believe that Iran will not stop attacking other countries. 69% say we have not stopped their nuclear program . A whopping 41% of Americans believe that we essentially ended in a stalemate, nearly 40% saying Iran came out on top. Does that sound like winning to you? https://t.co/8uG0q8vstN
@alexbruesewitz Or it could be a general recognition that the administration did a 180 on its articulated war objectives. My husband (USMC vet) is a 2x Trump voter, I’m a 3x Trump voter but we didn’t vote for this. The only OP is that this “deal” is not popular and not on a solid footing.
@Joelmpetlin@yashar It’s also who the people with which Vance associates. He’s very close to Tucker Carlson, close to Megyn Kelly. He loves Theo von, he flirts with the rabid psychopaths on the right.
lol. I would say that it’s actually both of them, I say that as a 3x Trump supporter. Apparently though according to the WH, I was never a supporter, I am a war monger, neocon, boomer involved in an op, just because I had the audacity to hold to the belief that the US shouldn’t cozy up to terrorists. Something this WH seems to like to do.
My husband works in the oil and gas sector, he’s been talking for literally a year about our production here at home and how oil rig count has dropped significantly. Since POTUS took office in 2025 rig counts dropped at least 25% and were losing upstream workers by the thousands. If the IRGC taking over the strait was always a possibility once a conflict began with them (it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that risk). Why didn’t they increase production here at home first? They’ve literally done nothing in that sphere. There was literally no preemptive planning.
Wow so Trump supporters, as I have been, are now sociopaths for not stepping in line with the MOU? You guys are all going to really regret attacking the hands that feed you, in order to cozy up to the woke reich of the party. Good luck winning elections without the base... the majority of which don't support cozying up and negotiating with terrorist regimes and their proxies.
You were likely still in puberty when they left, but the longest foreign occupation of Lebanon since the French left belongs to… Syria! 1976-2005… plus intelligence and advisors much longer. Yeah, I’m sure the occupation and drug running in the Bekaa Valkey by the SAA didn’t do anything to persecute and otherwise diminish Christian society and influence, right? GTFO
@MaxAbrahms And they are going to watch their support evaporate. I voted for potus 3x’s, I’ve been a GOP voter my whole adult life, but I refuse to be a part of a mindless cult.
@ImBreckWorsham Somehow you managed to sound historically ignorant and antisemitic in a few sentences. Lebanon hasn’t been majority Christian in demographic or political control since before the Lebanese civil war. Finish this sentence: Hezbollah is a ______ militant group.
Again... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 So you are saying this is some massive elaborate 9D game of chess POTUS is playing? That he is just some genius that literally no one in the world, except for his cult here on X, sees? Or this is POTUS getting into a conflict thinking it would be super easy to win, only to find out that that is not the case. A foreign policy genius does not upset an entire already unstable region, upset oil markets to the point of near world economic collapse, throw allies under the bus, humiliate themself over and over again when the literal terrorists you are capitulating to... I mean negotiating with, don't live up to their end of the bargain. A genius would not allow themselves to be publicly humiliated by a regime they supposedly decimated. They would not do or allow all of these things to happen over a hope that two factions in said terrorist regime would magically off each other and collapse. That is not genius, that is insanity, that is suicide. Friend, read a book... Study history... open your eyes, touch grass and learn to think for yourself.
