“Occasionally, weep deeply over the life that you hoped would be. Grieve the losses. Feel the pain. Then wash your face, trust God, and embrace the life that He’s given you.” – John Piper
You might start by talking about stress or conflict but then the tears come when you realize it’s betrayal, shame, identity, or church wounds underneath.
The good Shepherd doesn’t just heal the wound He follows you to the root.
"This is the only world in which you can suffer, so do it perfectly, trustingly, unselfishly, seeking through your grief to be better fitted to serve in Christ's name and way those who need." (Maltbie Davenport Babcock)
This is how I want to remember Charlie Kirk, a fierce warrior for truth and the Gospel. As sad and angry as we are, what I love about the Body of Christ and the beauty of the Gospel is our way of honoring Charlie isn't to riot. It isn't to murder innocent people. It isn't to call names or insult.
It's to worship, lifting our eyes to God, the bringer of life and death.
He is Good.
