MS @cuinfoscience #longcovid cut my PhD journey with @cfiesler short. CS ethics education 🙌🏼 all things STEM 👩🏻💻 Proud @prescottcollege @uclagseis alumna.
The evidence is in- the promise of the Information Age was empty without leadership, collective care, commitment to science & facts, and civic responsibility.
@XcelEnergyCO Yeah this is kinda absurd. One of my friends is off, the other, who is down the road has power. There's no criteria is there? What about the people who need constant medical care with machines? Dialysis and stuff, are they just screwed?
I’ve heard such good things about the customer service @subaru_usa@SubaruCustCare. I’m so disappointed with the lack of support and acknowledgement by our “customer advocate”. After a decade of Subaru ownership in Colorado, I’m questioning my loyalty. 😕
"[The system] is biased toward students who have more free time to devote to side projects, hackathons and studying for technical interviews—characteristics that conflate privilege with student potential." @ruthef of @LastMileFund saying what we all know! https://t.co/rB6qiD9lyU
@alextwenzel Gross. And does not surprise me coming from any UC. I was a grad student at UCLA when they hiked the “fees” (Cuz tuition is free 😂 😭 🤣😜🤪😑) ~30% mid-year in 2010. I’d be shocked if they ever did the right thing- like stood by faculty, staff, and/or students. Solidarity ✊🏽
@ahandvanish GOOD GOD PLEASE TEST ALL THE THINGS. 🙏🏼 On my wishlist: LDN, something hormone-related for menstruating people, POTS treatments, IV treatments….
I’m holding space and sending support to my chosen queer fam today. It’s horrifying that hate and violence can be directed to our/my loved ones. May we all come together and realize our collective well-being is interconnected. #ClubQ news c/o @cprwarner
“So just log off of Twitter. Better yet, log off entirely and go talk to a real person!”
Online communities are important.
Like, some social media might be a garbage fire right now but I don’t want to go back to when I didn’t have anyone to talk about books with.
Here is a thread of the teams I've seen impacted by the #TwitterLayoffs
So far, I've seen META (Machine Learning Ethics & Transparency), Birdwatch (Crowd Fact Checking), Accessibility, and Human Rights teams impacted 🧵
@brianrosa It’s a complex question that screamed, “I didn’t do my homework.” All these folks are helping with your “The Complexities of Defining STEM” assignment. 😝
