@RLEsportsReddit@sebdot Not enough like soccer is an insane statement from a country whose best performance is last in groups and only qualifying three times to a world cup
These guys don't even know what soccer is about
@Zpeedycryptosol @RLEsports Someone calculated (I think in a rocket baguette tweet but not sure), around 10K seats. By far not enough, we could have easily handled twice of that in France..
I personally believe even more, cause Europe is pretty connected. 30-40K possible due to the hype of a LAN that big.
@RLEsports Great video, but put a few more scenes from the bo7s in next time.
I am extremely disappointed with the final tho, entirely focused on the mistakes the defender made, you could have used better angles there
You can make every play look good with the right angle. 1/2
Food for thought :
We're at a point where, at least for EU RLCS, a non-official broadcast in a foreign language is doing better numbers organically than the official broadcast (because for some reason, there was no drops activated nor the in game button!)
RB's production is also much better this year (remember last time we had an actual desk for online play on the main channel?), and in my eyes more importantly their social media coverage puts to shame the official RLEsports account.
We can say it's easier because French speaking players keep dominating the scene but that did not happen overnight : look at how easy it is to get invested in the storylines and our esports through French channels/accounts VS how generic the official RLCS account and everything associated with it is, in comparison.
It leads to more French viewers invested -> more players -> more good players.
On the other hand, official content does not drive engagement, we're removing broadcast days, the cast is done through a Zoom call...
Less non-french viewers -> less players -> less good players.
Virtuous circle VS vicious circle : Epic, you make your own bed. If a third party entity like RB is able to market your own product better than the official channels (who have official funding), it's up to you to raise the bar, because they're proving it's possible. And that it can be even bigger!
I know this tweet won't do anything, but just retweeting their own tournaments stream on game day would push the viewership so much. It's not even much to ask for.
Yo @RLEsports there is this apac grand final soon which you guys are organising Would be really helpful if someone would promote the stream, but idk who could do that job
